On April 9, 2021, Better Business Bureau was alerted to a change of address business operating Postal Address Change, Change Postal Address, and United Address Change, https://www.unitedaddressform.org/.  Consumers seeking change of address services from the U.S. Postal Service  report conducting an online search for the United States Postal Service website only to be directed to the website for Postal Address Change. Consumers report the website is similar to the U.S. Postal Service website and they are unknowingly charged $79.95 for a service the U.S. Postal Service provides for $1.05.  Consumers allege the business is unresponsive to requests for assistance regarding refunds and cancellations. Postal Address Change advertises an address in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho 83814.  

The Idaho Secretary of State reports Postal Address Change, Change Postal Address, and United Address Change are not licensed businesses in Idaho.

On May 7, 2021, BBB reached out to Postal Address Change regarding the consumer complaints, but to date has not received a response; mail sent to the business address was returned by the U.S. Postal Service as undeliverable.

Better Business Bureau warns consumers when shopping online, verify business information by researching the address, licensing information, telephone number, and to read Terms and Conditions. Postal Address Change has a disclaimer in Terms and Conditions stating they are not affiliated with any government agency.

Complaints can be filed with Better Business Bureau at www.bbb.org as well as with the Federal Trade Commission Consumer Protection at https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/#/.

As of August 1, 2017, BBB has received two complaints from consumers alleging they clicked on postaladdresschange.org, believing it to be affiliated with the United States Postal Service, to change their address and to purchase services they could have received from the United States Postal Service for free or a nominal charge.  BBB reviewed the website postaladdresschange.org and found the company states on their website they are privately owned and not affiliated with the United States Postal Service but act as the customer’s agent when fulfilling the change of address requests with USPS. The company also states their service costs $49.50, which reflects the $1.05 charge required by the USPS to file any official address change online in the United States.  In addition, the company provides a comprehensive Change My Address Ebook, up to $500 in savings for moving services and a $25 gift card to Restaurant.com.

BBB could not locate any ownership or physical location for the company.  BBB found the address in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho is a mail box store.  BBB could not find the company registered with Idaho Secretary of State.   BBB did find the company shares the same address as www.fishinglicense.org, whose Business Review can be viewed by clicking https://www.bbb.org/northwest/business-reviews/e-books/fishinglicense-org-in-coeur-d-alene-id-1000030042.

On August 4, 2017, BBB sent an email to the company asking for their business registration information, ownership, physical location and information about their offer.  To date, BBB has not received a response.
