I purchased a brand new car from this dealership in June of 2017. I specifically purchased from this dealership due to the lifetime powertrain warranty they offer. At their recommendation, I keep record of every service the car has ever had. In september 2022 I had my car looked at by this dealership due to seepage from the transmission, which they noted but said it wasn't a problem and to keep an eye on it. It is now May 2023 and I have taken the car in again to a different honda dealership and they determined the gasket on my transmission pan has failed, which is not an inexpensive fix. I contacted the warranty company who stated they will not cover this because replacement of gaskets in the transmission is not covered in the warranty. This is confusing to me because I assumed that all parts of the powertrain would be covered under their "lifetime powertrain warranty."I contacted Coeur D'Alene Honda to express my frustration with their lifetime powertrain warranty not actually covering the full powertrain. I spoke with **** in the service department who confirmed to me that the gasket on the transmission pan going out is not typical for a car with less than ****** miles on it. Whose responsibility is it that this gasket went out? I spoke with them at length and stated I understood that the gasket was not covered under warranty, but I don't understand how they can advertise lifetime powertrain warranty but not actually cover all parts of the powertrain.

********************* purchased a new HR-V from ** on 6/30/2017. We provided a lifetime powertrain warranty with the vehicle as advertised. The warranty is specific on what it covers - internally lubricated components as described in "covered parts". The customer was given the opportunity to purchase additional extended coverage to compliment the powertrain warranty, but declined.

On 4/30/22 I paid a $1,000 deposit and signed written commitment with Coeur dAlene Honda (CdH) to secure a specific vehicle purchase. Part of deposit was non-refundable if I changed my mind. After waiting 2-1/2 months, the vehicle finally arrived July 11, but suddenly CdH has refused to sell it to me.Fri, July 15, I went to CdH to sign the necessary paperwork to take possession of my car. In the middle of signing, CdH suddenly said they were unable to provide the interest rate I had been told was guaranteed to me, documented in a pre-approval letter from ****************** CdH said I would need to pay an extra percent. At that point it was too late to call the Gesa underwriter to resolve the issue, as they were closed. So I asked to hold off signing the remaining paperwork until the next day when I could sort things out with Gesa and return to pick up the car. The next morning (Sat, July 16), I contacted Gesa who assured me their pre-approved interest rate was available to CdH. They said CdH could either: (1) contact Gesa underwriter for access to my preapproved ****% rate, OR (2) CdH could provide purchase order, which I would send to Gesa, who would arrange for me to pick up a cashiers check for the loan by 1 pm that same day. With either option, financing could be completed and I could pick up the car that day (Sat). I immediately called CdH to let them know about Gesa and asked to return to pick up the car that same day. However, CdH told me they had decided they didnt want to sell to me after all and I would need to go find a car elsewhere. That would mean many months longer wait with higher price, and puts me in a huge bind. IMPORTANT NOTE: On Fri when I asked to return the next day after resolving interest rate with Gesa, a CdH employee suddenly rushed up with a piece of paper and said they had just refunded my $1k deposit from April 30 and wanted me to sign for it. I did NOT request a return of deposit, and this was against my wishes.
