SRP Construction (AKA RC Mechanical) was hired and a contract and down payment made on April 5, 2023. The owner, *********************************, stated he would be leaving on April 14, 2023 for a two week vacation and would start bringing materials to do the job at the beginning of May with a start date of May 15,2023. No supplies were brought at the beginning of May, and we had given a down payment for the fence work as well as other handyman things he said he could do. The home owner, contacted him the week of May 8th to confirm he was still going to do the work. He started work on may 18th claiming he said the 22nd. He completed the back fence but did not install either gate and told the home owner he would be back either the evening of the 19th or the 22nd after posts set to install gates. He never returned leaving mud, and concrete waste on plastic bags on the yard which we moved on the 20th before it burnt the grass. The down payment for all of the work was $4053.03 which the check was cashed on April 7. The work that was completed was quoted @ *******, an overpayment of $86.28, which we would like paid back. When contacted by email and text he said he had asked the homeowner for the second payment, which he had not, and that he wasn't coming back. He called us foul names and threatened to tell other contractors that we didn't pay our bills and that we should be dealt with as cash up front only(which is funny because we did pay him upfront). He also claims in his advertising that he provides financing, which he does not, he has you apply online to a company that sends multiple loan offers, that is not offering financing. I could have done that myself. We hired someone else to finish putting up the gates and he removed un-needed posts that were installed by SRP and made the project look awkward and was much neater overall in his work.

First off. This customer did not have the gates unlocked by the front of the house to drop material off. We called and spoke to them 2 times. They werent home and we do not leave material in front of homes. Second. We canceled the contract because defaulted payment after being asked per contract to ******************** mother and **** herself.  We do not work for free and refuse to work with people that struggle to pay.  Our contract is posted states the payment schedule and its job contents.  After declining to pay the next payment we canceled. In ***** no business that provides service is required to provide services without payment.   We completed the first part of contract before the contracted date because customer made excuses about a new dog and we had to hurry. I will also put this here.

yes. We did pull out of contract. Yes we refused service. Yes we will not go back. No there is no refund coming because a cancelation of contract due to non payment is a $250 fee. This is the same as a change order.  She wants $89. But we would like the $922.50 for the gates that were built to be installed for this job.  Hence we had gates that werent paid for.    Above we posted the text messages begging us over and over to do it early even though they were scheduled for the 26th or 22nd should I say we completed the job before the 22nd because they would not stop bugging us about it because they got a dog, then they tried to change the job during the process with this customer it was unbelievably pathetic how annoying and self-absorbed these people were they expected work for free they didnt pay for the work we did on the garage door so we wrote it off all in all this customer if there was a ******************** for these people would be horrible rating non-payers dont know how to stick to a contract  What I should do is be putting a lien on their house for nonpayment for the remainder of the cancellation fee money

I am rejecting this response because: They are Lies. *** was paid ahead of time, our gates are not locked(the day he showed up to work unannounced he walked right into the back yard without contacting us), and he did not ask for the second payment nor was it stated anywhere in the contract when it was due. Also nowhere in the contract is a cancellation fee stated. He can keep the overpayment money, I would rather not deal with an incompetent business. He threatened us to defame our name with other contractors, but we have paid our landscape companies as well as ****** fence( who by the way did not ask for a down payment) and finished the gates that SRP walked away from. We have had no complaints from any other business we have dealt with on work on our property, and the other contractors finished the jobs they stated they would do. Obviously I am not the only one who has difficulty dealing with him, I just wish I had checked the BBB before dealing with him. There is a pattern.

      Sincerely,

      *********************

I contacted this company for a bid for a vinyl fence install. He came out for the bid 7-4-22. Finally started the install 8-15-22, finished 8-20-22. Discovered a day later that the openings to the gates were only 46 and 45. Not the 48 gate opening we discussed at the bid. Refuses to come out to fix his mistake. ******* calls, texts and blocked off all social media pertaining to his business.
