        Dave Smith Motors pressured my partner into leaving them a $500 deposit over the phone on a sight-unseen-Jeep. The deposit was supposed to be refundable. We didn't purchase the jeep and asked for our money back over dozens of phone calls. Two months later Dave Smith Motors has effectively stolen $500 in a refundable deposit and our dodging our phone calls. Small claims court will be our next step.

        On 8/7/22 I filed complaint case # ******** with the Better Business Bureau regarding **** Smith's Motor's failure to refund a deposit. On 8/9/22 **** Smith Motor's responded to the complaint with the following: "After going through ***************************** file...It is clear that the customer did not sign the non-refundable deposit for order form that the salesperson is required to have in a customers file.********************** file will now go to our accounting department, and a $1,000 check will be mailed out and his credit card will be refunded $1,000 as well.Hopefully ****************** will not let one persons actions reflect poorly on our entire company".A credit was sent by ******************************* to my credit card account shortly thereafter which prompted me to reply in the affirmative that their response was acceptable to me, thus closing the aforementioned case. Unfortunately, shortly thereafter, they pulled that credit from my account which prompted me to dispute the charge with my Bank. That dispute took a month to resolve as Dave Smith motors apparently were no longer willing to back the representation they made regarding a refund. At that point, and forward almost two months later they have not sent a check for the remaining balance due. Just as the representative of ******************************* stated "It's clear ****************** didn't sign the non-refundable deposit order form" it's clear that their putting forth that initial credit, only to pull it back, was yet another deceptive business practice. This is not an isolated case as various social media platforms contain a variety of deposit disputes handled in a questionable manner. It's my intent to pursue a complaint with the ***** State ************************* in addition to sharing this company's deceptive business practices on all social media platforms.

        Very deceptive sales practices and customer service. Would NEVER recommend buying anything from them ever again. We bought a new ******** years ago, and were pushed into their extended warranty (which we never buy) but were repeatedly assured that it had a no nonsense buy back guarantee. Fast forward 4 years later, and we are out the $3,000 for the buyback because the third party underwriter is a scam artist, and **** Smith has rung their hands of any accountability in the process. They gladly convinced us to spend thousands of dollars on something that were now getting screwed on. They wont return phone calls, and clearly have no intention of helping reimburse the hundreds of customers who got fleeced by this shady scam. Were contemplating consulting with an attorney, but regardless of the outcome, Dave Smith Motors will never get business from us again, and I will make sure to tell everyone I know about their shady business practices.

        We bought a truck in March from here, had a cashiers check for the purchase, **************** finance guy told us if we finance instead, make 3 payments, they would give us a check for ****. Was talked into it, now we are completely being ghosted by them. We will be opening up a lawsuit and pursuing this further.
