I financed a car through them in January 2021, we had a verbal & written agreement that for the first year my APR would be *****% & after a year it would go down nearly 50% to just 15%. I've made my payments religiously for almost 3.5 years, unfortunately it quit running so I called Capital & asked what I owed & much to my surprise they said I still owe over $6,000! The car I financed wasn't even 10K, & honestly not even worth half the price, now it needs to be repaired & that's over 2K & somehow after close to 3.5 years they say I owe more than half, I got a little confused, & curious & did some digging on my credit & there I saw it, they to this day are still charging *****% so my car payment is 336/month over 100/month is going in their pockets, do the math January 2022 it just have dropped to 15% it is now May 2024 27 months of ripping me off for more than $2,700! They take advantage & I believe honestly discriminate against we who have bad credit especially women. I'm seeking legal counsel for advice, judging by all the awful comments about this company this was no accident or mistake, just them capitalizing on we who struggle!

First.. why is it everytime someone complains about Capital one to the BBB their response is always to blame a different division of the capital one company? Hello , Capital One or Capital One finance. Doesnt matter. Help your paying customers. They have yet to take accountability for anything and seem to not care about their customers.Second..I had an auto loan with them for a car I purchased in 2016. It was a good experience so when I was in the market for a new car I went with Capital one again. This time I caught them red handed adding additional I threat to my auto loan remaining balance. The remaining balance is your principal plus the projected interest youll pay. Right now my principal is $20,053. On 3/2/2024 my remaining balance was $27,420 with a projected pay off of May 5, 2029. Today 3/5/20204 my remaining balance is ****** and my early payoff a month later now projected for June 5 2029. Only the 10 day quote is supposed to increase. Any accrued interest is already accounted for within the remaining balance. Thats why you see a $7,000 difference between my principal and remaining balance. When I noticed they had added additional interest I called to see why. I was told that they are charging an additional $6.83 per day to my loan on top of the $7,000 they added off top. If i pay $6.83 per day for the June 5 2029 Ill be paying $13,081 in hidden interest plus the $7,000 they put in my remaking balance for a total if $20,081 in interest alone. Thats over 100 percent of the principal i owe. I take screen shots of my auto loan account daily so I have plenty of evidence for court. Im hoping Capital one will have the good business practices I assumed they had and resolve this matter regarding my account. I sure Hope this was a mistake and the customer service representative just didnt understand my complaint. Because this is a terrible way to do business.

They are one of the best auto loan finance companies I have ever had the pleasure of working with. I have fell behind many times being in and out of the hospital and they continue to work with me whenever I need them to get caught up! They are so kind and never pushy what so ever. They are very understanding and I appreciate the professionalism they keep while trying to provide the best options for you. Thank you Capital Auto!

To be clear, this is a positive review for CAPITAL AUTO LOANS. Its unfortunate that the name is easily confused for a different company, because I see from reading past complaints that Capital Auto Loan is easily confused with Capital One. So I sure wont be using Capital One, since almost all the negative reviews were anctually intended for them. The people at Capital Auto Loan have been very nice to me. Theyve been understanding and patient. A few little glitches, but mostly my fault. I think this is a pretty solid, down-to-earth company. And thats rare in this bureaucratic world of corporate moguls.
