********************* of R&J Specialties llc Mobile mechanics in *****, ID defrauded me of $80. He will refuse to quote a price, require an $80 diagnostic, spend only 20 minutes of clean tests, and then quote a huge price you reject, making $80 for 20 minutes you could have done.Over the phone, he refused to give even a contingent or general estimate of what it might cost to clean the fuel injectors on my specific vehicle. He said it could be $5 or $1000 depending what is wrong, often $200, but he could not commit.I finally agreed to an appointment, then cancelled due to lack of estimate, then re-agreed because he texted he would show me the inside of the tank during the diagnostic, which I told him was the reason I was willing. When he arrived, he collected payment first. He did not give me a receipt for the payment, but the estimate he gave later implies it, as does the recording later. I should have done credit instead of cash. He then checked a cylinder and then the tank intake and told me he won't drop the tank unless I agree to his price, which is $1199 to clean 6 fuel injectors and cylinders. I took a picture of the quote and have the original text messages. I also took a screenshot of the ********** ad with his phone number. He then told me it is illegal for me to sell the vehicle to anyone else. I told him not if I tell the buyer it needs the injectors cleaned. He said he had a copy of the law in his truck. I told him to show it to me. He changed the topic. I turned on a voice recorder, and he would not answer my question about his previous statement, dodging it with, "Do you expect me to work for free." I told him he is guilty of fraud, and he threatened to call the police. I told him to do so, which he did not. He was very scared when I threatened bad reviews, but he did not give even a partial refund of the $80.If you can plug an Autozone computer into your car port, you don't need this guy.I wish I had read BBB first. He also said he is not bound by BBB.

Poor service labor costs very high 485$ for three hours work very difficult to get an itemized accurate receipt refused to give me proper costs. Owner is hard to deal with

****** was an amazing mechanic and was able to fix my 2008 Prius in no time. He was very friendly and communicative throughout his process and explained the charges clearly. I would recommend to any friend that was in a bind such as myself.

I met ********************* owner of RNJ specialties mechanic shop through business card that I acquired at a tire shop here in Garden City. He worked on my wifes blazer and I thought he did a pretty good job on that issue. Well then I later hired him and paid him in advance $1100 to fix an issue with the transmission on my ***** pick up at **** ***** Silverado, it was having issues with the transmission that I had putting it a year and a half ago that I spent almost $4000 on and that was warranted are supposed to be paying ****** he played me it took him almost a month after he said he had to order the parts which he said it was a computer malfunction and he needed to get a new wiring harness to hook up to the transmission of my truck and then he was also said he was going to help me with other issues that I had but he never ever followed through with his promises Finally after I got fed up, I called him up and stated that I would like to have my truck and have him fix it as soon as possible. He came out and he put the computer in that he said he bought it didnt look new and after I checked, he overpriced me for the parts , Id say at least a couple hundred dollars cause I looked up the parts that he ordered and also he only installed the computer module which took him less than five minutes and he never installed the harness. He said after he did install the computer my truck ran worse than it did before I brought it to him, and on top of that I became very angry because he wouldnt follow through with his promise to me , he would not give me the spare part that I had purchased with my money or that he purchased after I gave him money for it, or give me my receipt to say that I was paid in full, and on top of that he tried to coarse me in front of my home, and into a fight , that is my complaint

Not going to go into everything, in a nutshell...Horrible communication, always late. If you enjoy gaslighting ****** is your guy. He would not finish the job because I was rude. Yes ******, after dealing with you for 7 weeks and the vehicle never actually having been worked on. Yes I was rude. And yes you said the tank was on back order. That was one issue, but there is no core charge on a tank...nor do I believe the original tank couldn't have been fixed.
