On 2/17,22, my husband and I entered into a contract with Rebath to install a standup shower in our house. The total cost was $12,000 and they required a 50% deposit. No problem. However last week my husband passed away unexpectedly and I'm now in a situation where I'm not sure I can afford my home. I spoke to **** last week and he said he spoke to the ** and they would reimburse 100% of my deposit to cancel the project. However, today my daughter received a phone call from "****" at Rebath stating the most they could reimburse me was $3,000. I am 70 years old and this is elderly abuse. I explained to them the reason I'm canceling is that I'm not sure of my financial future. They seemed sympathetic but will not honor what they told me. Reimbursing the full deposit given the circumstances.Business response

We are very sorry for your loss. We secure custom product for these projects that cannot be returned or reused in many cases, for this reason in typical situations a portion of the deposit it non-refundable. It appears local management had never been faced with this type of situation and unfortunately didn't understand regional policy. In the case of a death in the family, we take a closer look at the situation and will typically refund the full deposit. *****************, the General Manager will be reaching out first thing this morning to resolve the matter and we'll make sure the entire deposit is refunded. Again, we're very sorry for your loss and wish you and your family the very best in this tough time. Thank you.
