Our vet recommended Positive Paws training since we were new dog owners and wanted to get a good start on our new addition to the family ****** In October of 2021 we paid for a 10 day boarding training to be followed up with 1 on 1 and group training sessions. The person we spoke with at positive pets assured us that once we were done with the training we would end up with a well behaved and socialized pet. During the inspersion assessment the trainer who met with us and our dog assured us that she would was a people pleaser and would be easy to train. So we send ***** off excited to grow with her and her training however once we had her back we quickly realized that none of what was promised was true.First off she was returned home to us with Kennel cough - so we immediately took her to the vet to get her treated -that was another couple hundred dollars ***** from the moment she got back was acting super anxious and standoff ish towards men (this was never an issue before the training) Also to our dismay she started aggressively barking at anyone who came anywhere near our house to the point where we had to block the front windows so she did not scare the neighbors across the street when their kids were playing in their front yard. As for the follow up training we discovered that now ***** was also dog aggressive and could not train with any other animals. So instead of continuing to work with her the trainers told us we had to get her more "socialized" before she could come back to anymore classes. So we have not been back since to even finish the classes I paid for upfront. Unfortunately as much as we have tried since her "training" we have not been able to un do whatever was done to her while she was away so we are going to have to rehome her now. Please do not take your dog to this training group it will ruin them.

***** worked well at our facility and was doing well with our trainers. Here is a video of ***** working with a male trainer without anxiety or being standoffish. https://youtu.be/RJ9oB4dxm2g

Kennel cough can be contracted by being in close proximity to any dog whether at the facility or on a walk past a fence line. We warn all of our clients that it is possible if you dog goes to school that they may come home with a cough. This is also why we require bordetella vaccinations and have installed an extensive ventilation system and large fans to help prevent kennel cough from spreading.

We would have been happy to continue training with the Barbours. We did mention socialization was the reason our last ****** was cut short due to the owner admitting that they had not been practicing their homework outside their house. When we contacted them for their follow up ****** ***** had diarrhea and they didn't want to load her in the car.

It should also be noted that in the consultation before training had started there was an incident at petsmart in which they were worried about reactivity because ***** had "freaked out because a dog barked at her."

I am rejecting this response because:

      Sincerely,

This is not true, the petsmart encounter occured after ***** had been to the overnight training. We were mislead and ultimatly not allowed to attend the training we paid for as a result. This company is very dishonest and not only caused trama to our dog but did not deliver on the classes we paid for. Buyer beware here, best case is you will have your money taken for classes you dont recieve, worst case you will also have a dog with worse issues when you get them back. *****************************
