Wind damage tree, limb, broken off, but still attached by some bark hanging over the powerline from the pole to my home. Contacted the local gardener pruning and ****************. Got a free estimate from ****** ********, he was on the property and looked at it, stated he needed 50% down and could possibly be there on the fourth after 4 PM. I expressed the need to get it done sooner and he said he could only do that under my declaration of an emergency. So I wrote him a check for $700 deposit and he said he would try and be there at 4 PM the next day. I was contacted by two Rivers tree removal which she got my number from Angies list and expressed he would stop by and give me an estimate and he agreed to do the job for the same price of total $1400. No deposit required and could be there the next morning. I contacted ****** ******** at the local gardener and expressed to him that I found her true removal company that can get it done in the morning and then I needed a refund on my deposit and I apologize that I would not be doing business with him he expressed he would have the check driven by someone and dropped off at my house. I told him just teared up. The next day I saw it was deposited at **************************. And Ive made several calls and have been trying to get him to refund my $700 for over two weeks now . Hes basically saying that his accountant will write the check and mail it to me again over two weeks now and I can no longer contact him. His phone number is not working which is ************ currently just a busy signal is commitment to refund my $700 on the very day I wrote it. Im now being told the last time I contacted him last week that his accountant has the information and will mail me the check shortly. Theyve had the information since September 4 over two weeks and the three times Ive contacted him. He said he would have the check written and put in the mail right away. Over two weeks and now I can no longer contact him.
