We have had internet service with first step internet since October. Since then we have had problems with getting paper bulls and emails and have never been able to log into our account online to pay our bill. We made this known to them many times. I was under the impression we were on autobill until the disconnected out service. I have since Calle 8 times during business hours and also emailed 3 times and gotten no help... I got a couple calls back but I made it very clear that I had no cell phone at the ***** unless we had internet so I need someone to answer when I called... Which I did 8 times. I also emailed. I had also requested info on the low income service program. I finally got fed up with not being able to reach customer service during business hours and we need phone service at the house as I, have a disabled son and my daughter needs internet for school. I stopped today and wrote a check becuae I wanted a receipt for my payment and I am thinking about finding another service provider so I didn't want retaliatory billing for leaving which peipenhabe reported from this company. I write a check and asked for a receipt which was denied by the gentleman on duty. I asked when service would be restored and he said it would be as soon as he recorded payment. I then got a call from ******* the owner of the company saying she called my bank and that there wasn't funds to cover my check so she would not restir my service. Funny thing is I left there as soon as I wrote the check I went to the bank and made a deposit at my bank. I also have overdraft petection etc so the bank would have paid the check even if their weren't funds in the account. I have wrote checks before and they have never called to verify checks, I have neve bounced a check to them and I have talked to others who have their service an no on has eve had them call and verify a check like this. I think this is total retaliation for identifying myself as a low income patron

The answer to this entire issue was very simple.  This customer just needed to pay her bill for service provided when it was due and without excuse. Her service has been terminated.
