We purchased a vehicle from Western Mountain Auto Sales and we were told that the issue with the cars ac would be fixed. We took it in to their mechanic and they said they fixed the problem so we took the vehicle back and it worked for a little bit then stopped working again. It has been in and out of the shop for the same issue since we have had it and we have spent a lot of money on it and everytime its something else wrong withing the ac system. I just had it back in and now they want ******* to fix it this is ridiculous since this is still the same problem. This seem to me to be pretty shady business practices. I will never reccomend someone buying a car from them.Business response

Hi Crystal,
I apologize for the confusion as well as for the inconvenience you've experienced with this car. We recognize you've had to have this Traverse back in the shop multiple different times over the two years you have owned the car, and we can certainly see why that would be frustrating. Over the course of two years, different components of the air conditioning have failed and have needed to be replaced when they failed. The initial issue with the air conditioning was not the air conditioning compressor, so that's why it wasn't replaced initially.
In regard to this current issue, it appears that the invoice you were given was misleading. We spoke with *** and she thought she had explained that it was two different options, but she should have provided two separate quotes so it didn't look like the total was $3,030. We have gone over this issue internally, and will be sure quotes are separated in the future. The first option was to replace the A/C compressor, which was $1,011.23 with the part markup and labor. The second quote was if you wanted to replace both the A/C and the condenser as well as the warranty (which the part manufacturer would then warranty the system). The only thing leaking right now is the compressor, the part company just won't do a lifetime warranty on the compressor without also replacing the condenser. I also attached the signed invoice that stated the compressor was leaking when the A/C was recharged.
We do want to make this right and try to make up for the inconvenience you have had with this car as much as possible. We have relayed this information to the owner, ***************************, and he said we would cover the cost of labor as well as the freon. We will also take out the part mark up on the compressor and give it to you for our cost of $277.76, which would be all you would need to pay to have the air conditioning compressor fixed. Let us know if this solution will work for you, and we'll get the part ordered and your Traverse on the schedule to get it replaced.
Thank you,
********************;
