On August 19, 2024, I called an made an appointment with Corwin Ford to have my car checked out for an odd noise. I was told that the earliest they could get me in was September 4th and they would need my car for 3 days. Because I travel for my job, I had to rent a car for those 3 days. I received no fewer than 3 texts reminding me about my appointment. I promptly dropped my car off at 7:00 am on September 4th. On Friday the 6th at 3pm, the 3rd day, I texted ****** ****** who was my service adviser to check on my Explorer. I was told that they had not even looked at it. If I hadn't called, I probably wouldn't have known until the following week they hadn't worked on my car. My service advisor had no common courtesy to call me and let me know that they wouldn't get to my car. I could have returned the rental car a day or two earlier and not paid the full amount for the rental. I spent $262 to rent a car for no reason. When I picked up my car, I asked to speak to a manager and was told no one was available. Another gentleman asked me if he could make a copy of my rental receipt, which I allowed him to do. I assumed that Corwin Ford was at least going to try to make it right. I never heard anything from them.

      Business response

      09/24/2024

We have reimbursed them for the rental car. We have no excuse for the poor communication, but we have reached out to the customer and offered to try and make it right to them.

On 5/20/24 I was contacted by the service manager ************************* that they would be performing the last repairs on parts they damaged on my 2022 F150 Raptor and to basically find somewhere else to service my vehicle. I then got the run around by the ** and they decided they want to play this game. Heres the facts you damaged my truck. You wont admit fault even after your ***************** manager said you guys would replace it. You didnt call me hoping the problem would go away. You did not communicate with me. You dont want to take accountability for your actions. You look at me as a burden rather than stepping up your game and providing the best service possible. Real nice way of treating a customer who was once happy. So happy he left you sterling reviews and gave a gift to the service advisor for taking care of the warranty issues. DO NOT have anybody contact me aside from Mr. ********************** himself.

      Business response

This compliant has been addressed and the customer stated he does not want us to fix it, due to how we handled the situation. I spoke to customer the yesterday and I can understand why he is frustrated. Even after he hung up on me, I continued to try and fix the issue. I have offered to make it right, but the offer was declined. He has continued to write reviews including this compliant. I'm not sure how we can fix this issue if the customer does not want our help. I would prefer to address this situation and make it right, but unfortunately I can not make the customer accept our help.

I paid them to balance my tires. They did not do it correctly . Instead of removing old wheel weights that were coming off making wheels outa balance they just rotated and said it was good. It was not good and problem was still there. I had to take my vehicle to another shop to have it done right. Im asking for my money back because they are horrible at what they do. I feel lied to and cheated. I have receipts from Big O tire.

      Business response

      05/06/2024

The customer never let us know the tires were not balanced correctly. We never had a chance to correct the issue. We have had multiple issues in almost every department with this customer. He has been asked to not do business with us anymore, due to how he treats our staff. We do not tolerate poor treatment of our staff. We can understand when mistakes are made, but his treatment of multiple employees will not be tolerated. We are asking for this complaint to be removed since we never had a chances to correct the issue, along with the fact of how he has treated our staff.

I also filed a complaint with **** corporate a month ago giving **** the general manager to contact me and make right. **** complaint number is CXH-01873298, he never did reach out to me.  Here is the correspondence I get on the monthly inviting me there.

On june5th *************** came out to do a recall on the nox sensor, he did not inspect anything,if he had then he would have seen new exhaust, so NO NEED to do the recall as the sensor had been removed. We just bought the vehicle so we didn't know. Corwin ford in nampa will not fix the problem. It had been modified and a tune on it,they erased all of that, I think they should be responsible for getting the vehicle back to where it was. I had been emailing the general manager at corwin, but that really has gotten no where. It is a 2014 **** pickup diesel I have called around to get estimates and I would like for them to pay the bill to get it back in the same running order it was in prior to June 5th Thank you ************************* ************

Date of Service was in June of 2023. 2008 **** F350 6.4 PowerStroke - Had Corwin Ford Nampa, ID change oil and fuel filters. Left for a trip later that week with our trailer Upon entering Cambridge, I noticed a massive puddle of oil on ground and on axle. Get home and oil is still overfull. Corwin "confirms" it was their error and refunded me the ****** for overfilling. I requested my oil pan be replaced because it wasn't wet, seeping, or leaking in anyway prior to the oil change. ******, manger of Quick Lane would not replace because it wasn't leaking after changing the oil again. Took another trip with trailer the following weekend, and oil continued to leak (large amount) over pan and axle. Call Corwin and was told - No, your engine has high miles, lots of blow by, and has been modified, not our fault. After I mentioned the cost of the pan gasket, he belittled me saying, "Ah, that's why you want us to do it free." I've called a number of local diesel shops that confirm overfilling can and will cause such issues. In addition, if both the upper and lower pan leak, the cost of repair through the shops I called, runs approximately **** - ****. If the bed plate is leaking, the cost of repair jumps to **** - ****. Regarless, I had an engine with no seepage, wetness, or any signs of leaking prior to Corwin overfilling during the change. They are looking at the truck again, not sure why as it doesn't matter what the issue is because it wasn't there prior, before coming to a conclusion. I am very doubtful this will be covered at 100%. I will know later today, I think.

Corwin ford wanted to appraise my truck. Sales manager took the truck and drove it and did whatever he needed with it. Appraised as is for 54k. Said 64k if I put exhaust back on. Thats all they said. Took it back with exhaust and they pretty much shunned me away. Because check engine light was on due to damaged nox sensor. Said it had dirt in the engine. And a major leak. The 2019 years had upper and lower oil pan sealing issues. Which was the reason. Went against morgensun-**** warranty act. They wouldnt let me talk to the mechanic. Couldnt privies pictures. Just said my engine was dusted. Then blown. I mean I pulled trailers all the time with the truck. Tried telling me a aftermarket filter desenegrates and dusts the motor. Im sure my air filter now is better quality and has a higher micron rating then the standard **** installed filter. Left truck for oil pan fix. Denied it. Said warranty was voided cause exhaust. Told me removing stock exhaust caused more crank case pressure. Didnt know removing a restriction added more restriction. So. Falsified information. Said engine had blow up which all engines have a spec for blow by. Cant 100% seal a engine. Couldnt provide pics of dirt they said. Went against the mmwa. And made a deal with me and broke it as I see as fraudulent misrepresentation as they verbally made the deal with a handshake. After the whole fact as I have ties with owner. They refused to schedule me a meeting with him and was told Zach (who I was speaking with) is the top of the food chain and I wont be getting with ****** corwin. I have recordings of one of our conversations. Also took recording of service manager telling me why they wouldnt work on my truck and sat the telling me he wasnt going to sit there and argue with me. When I asked for my signed piece of paper for the pay off agreement. They could not provide one and said it was shredded. i bought another vehicle when we made our agreement for work. Now stuck with two payments.

It's very unfortunate that this situation has come to this. We did appraise the vehicle, the vehicle had numerous aftermarket features on it. Due to the altered diesel emissions on it, we asked for it to be returned to stock. When the vehicle returned, it was in poor shape and we declined the purchase. This was not a retail purchase, as in we were not selling him another vehicle, we were just offering to purchase the vehicle from the customer if it was in reasonable condition. We have the right to refuse business. The truck has numerous issues, some the customer was even aware of. Due to the truck having the exhaust removed and other equipment the truck is damaged beyond what we feel comfortable trying to fix. We offered to re scan the vehicle and show him a print out of everything wrong with the truck. Originally he agreed to that, but changed his mind for some reason. We are not going to commit warranty fraud and fix his truck since his aftermarket equipment is what caused the issues. If the truck was not damaged he should be able to sell it to just about anyone in the valley due to the market for diesel trucks. We never told the customer to purchase a second vehicle prior to selling us his vehicle. This complainant should be removed from our profile considering we should have the right to protect our business from fraud and profit loss.

      Complaint: 17683972

I am rejecting this response because: unfortunately. The check engine light is gone. I was open and honest with the company. The truck is not in rough shape. Upper and lower pan gasket leaks are common on this vehicle. The company would not let me speak with the mechanic. They offered me money I agreed. Returned back. Signed a payoff agreement. Once all this happened. They couldnt provide my document that I signed with them. Manager said he didnt represent ***** Distric manager said he was top of food chain. And then in front of customers in building bad mouthed me which always directly in front of my wife. Service manager was rude and said he wasnt going to argue about it. Soft and hard codes are different. It had hard code for nox sensor. Its fixed. **** made an agreement. Then went against it. Fraudulent misrepresentation. Then proceeded to tell me dirt was in my engine engine is blown. Then engine is dusted. Could not provide evidence. Admitted mechanic didnt inspect turbo. Intake. Nothing  seen oil vapor from oil fill port (which is normal) and said engine was done. But I tow a cargo trailer around and car hauler with no issues. I have recordings of the conversations of agreeing to buy it then changing their mind after I started paperwork. My issue is. Like recording shows. They said they would buy it that day without emissions for 54k or bring it back with exhaust for 64k. That was the start of our agreement. And then they try pushing me out the door. Said why should mechanic speak to me when they play middle man. Doesnt work for people who know how an engine works and someone with little to no knowledge tries explaining. This company did not stick to their agreement with me. They didnt go by mmwa which protects customers from problems like this. Denied warranty for an exhaust? Which the act states they have to prove and demonstrate how it did so even though many of these trucks have the warranty claim on them for the lack of sealant on the oil pans. Then the sales manager said hes not doing free work? Its warranty. Someone is getting paid.

I will be looking into legal advise about this and providing recording to whom it concerns. Ive asked to talk to ****** corwin personally multiple times. And nobody will allow me to do so. Contacted **** reps. ****** heard back. Things like this should not be swept under the in my opinion and people should be aware that this could be a issue in the future for someone. Ive bought my last truck from **** and this truck from **** and Ill prob be done doing business with them after.

      Sincerely,

On Jan 26, 2022 I took my 2011 F150 to Corwin Ford and it was diagnosed with a faulty Molded lead frame which is a part under an extended warranty due to know failures. Though my vehicle goes into limp mode, I was told the part was on back order until March 10th, which had long since passed and **** continues to make no effort to find or manufacture the warrantied part that my vehicle needs. The service rep I work with at Corwin Ford has no ability to obtain the part he is simply there to provide me lip service and the ************* rep *** not only failed to find me a part in 5months but does not return my phone calls. **** simply seem unwilling to make any effort to fulfill their warranty agreement for the molded lead frame and with myself

My 2011 F150 started going into limp mode that Corwin Ford diagnosed as due to a bad molded lead frame in Jan 2022. Due to know problems with this specific part, the molded lead frame was on an extended factory warranty and my vehicle was determined to be fully qualified u see that warranty. The part was orders and supposed to be in in March. The extended warranty expired in April but I was assured that my vehicle would be cover as it was diagnosed prior to warranty expiration. The tech that documents the codes since quit and Im told that evidence is lost so now ****************** is refusing to warrantee the part and Corwin Ford blames everything on their service rep the regional Rep I was communicating with also quit I simply want my vehicle fixed under warranty immediately

      Business response

      09/02/2022

This has been a on going issue. We have ordered the part, unfortunately the part is on national back order. We have already agreed to replace it at no charge to the customer. This is the second complaint filed by the customer, and I would ask that this complaint be taken down due to the fact it's the same complaint from June 2022. We will fix the vehicle once parts are available. We would love to get this taken care of soon as we have the resources to complete the job. We have no control over parts availability.

      Complaint: 17894972

I am rejecting this response because: ****************** will not -expedite the part because They do not hav the error codes that were lost when their transmission technician

quit.  This is not my (customer) fault and ****************** can choose to prioritize getting the part.  ****************** is also the one who canceled the part order originating in January so the fact that I still do not have the part and repair is not just for to National parts shortage, it is do to ****************** making every attempt not to fulfill their warranty or at best poor administrative handling and failure to prioritize customers.   This part could have been manufactured in the 8 months that I have been waiting.     I will personally be unavailable until Oct 10th when i expect to  hear that the part is in.  And again simply blaming this on the service rep is a cop out, this needs to be escalated much further up the administrative org chard to achieve resolution

We have tried reaching out to the customer to clarify everything. We sold them a vehicle that had a national backordered part, and kept them in a loaner car the entire time until we got confirmation that the part was not going to be available for an even longer extended period of time. We attempted to trade the customer out of the vehicle, but could not

obtain financing for them. We ended up buying the car back from the customer for a price that the customer agreed on. Their previous trade from the original purchase was never brought up until this week. We have already put in a request for check to be returned to the customer. We have never charged the customer for the loaner car or the uber ride back to Oregon.

My ************************************** 2018 which was not disclosed upon purchasing from Corwin Ford in October 2020. The recall was for a transmission shudder/PCM software issue and after 10 months of driving this vehicle it began demonstrating signs of issue that left the car difficult to drive safely. I took my car to Corwin Ford on August 24, 2021. After nearly 8 months it is still not repaired and is inoperable at the **** dealership. I have attempted numerous contacts to Corwin (calls, texts, email, physical visits) yet there still no resolution or ETA. Corwin has shown no sense of urgency or concerns that they have caused a customer hardship for nearly 8 months. I am seeking resolution, repair and the return of my property.

I have emailed and left a voicemail with ********. The **** Focus in question has a TCM that is on a national back order. We offered to buy the vehicle back in November, and could not agree to terms. Corwin Ford has no way of getting the back ordered part until **** releases the part itself. We have no problem releasing the vehicle if they want their vehicle back in their possession.
