We were approached by this company in our new home being asked to give access to our property regarding fiber optic cable. The employee did not have badge or company card to verify business besides a work truck. He tried to explain they needed access to our backyard to a box and were going to be working on it. I explained that we never received notice of this and inquired as to why. He couldnt explain besides telling me that it was a network for our neighbors and we could access it if we want. I stated no that I would not authorize them onto my property to work on anything without written permission from our HOA and a notice from the city of ********. I informed him that nothing was disclosed in our buyer agreement and I was not comfortable with letting them into my backyard without a work order or any legal document. He proceeded to challenge me and said he was calling his manager. Within 15 his manager showed up and began harassing me about it saying they need to do their job and using intimidation to force entry. I reiterated to him that with notice and legal documentation of a work order that I was not going to allow them to trespass. He was visibly frustrated and was not taking no for an answer. He had 4 other men with him and was persistent. After I explained again that I will not permit them access until we have permissions from our HOA, a notice from the city of ********, and an appointment for the work, they cannot trespass and to not solicit us. (We have a no soliciting on our front door). I felt very uncomfortable by the entitlement they were presenting and using a crew to intimidate. I noticed they were going around other properties near us as well. Overall, they had no legal grounds and did not have proper identification to access our property. Nor had we every received notice of them. We clearly stated we had no interest and they harassed me.
