I went into this business to see if they would be able to install new tires onto my 2012 Ducati, Italian Superbike on Thursday the 4th of May 2023. I was told it would be no problem by the owner of the business who I know as *****. He then went onto his computer and began to look up prices for a quote. He then ordered 2 new ******** tires for my motorcycle, without asking me for any type of deposit or payment at that time. I work for a local delivery service and I actually delivered the tires to his shop myself when they arrived the next day. On Tuesday the 9th of May 2023 I then delivered my Ducati to his shop in the back of my personal sprinter van. I specifically remember that in order to unlock the handlebars on my bike, I had to put the key into the ignition, which I did. I then started my bike and drove it down the ramps, out of my van, and into the parking lot of Sport Motors, where ****************** took delivery of my bike into his custody. I then shut off the bike by turning the key into the off position and I left it inside the ignition, specifically knowing they would need it to work on it. I then went inside, filled out and signed a work order for my bike, also writing down the other issues I wanted them to fix, aka a leak in my lower radiator, and a missing spring on my kick stand. Over the next several weeks I would go to the business on multiple occasions enquiring on the status of my bike and was mostly told they were waiting for parts. After the first part of June I was told they had all the parts and were waiting for the mechanic to get thru their other projects until he was finally able to work on mine. Finally, on Thursday the 22nd of June I was told by ***** that it would be done by the end of the following day, and when it wasn't, we told them we wanted the the bike back. They then returned it back to us with no key and said they didn't know where it was at. That was my only key and the dealer in SLC says it'll be $2,350 to replace.
