I called Shelley Veterinary Hospital at 12/27/21, 7:36 AM. I explained to ****** that my chihuahua, weighing less than 10 lbs, had uncontrollable diarrhea for the last 12 hours; that I was concerned of her hydration levels and requested an appointment, specifically for subcutaneous fluid administration. The receptionist, ******, had stated that the Veterinarian was snowed-in, but this was a service that they could provide. ****** scheduled my dogs appointment for 3.5 hrs later, 11 AM. I drive to Shelley from ***********, post snow-squall; upon our arrival, I am advised that they could not conduct this service without the physical presence of the Veterinarian, despite what I was told on the phone by ******. Through the stress of travel, environmental and ailment variables, my chihuahua defecated on me in the office and all they could offer me was sorry. It is now mid-day and all Veterinary clinics Ive contacted are booked and overwhelmed with post Christmas emergency visits. Due to Debbies lack of due diligence and complete negligence in conducting her duties with care, my chihuahua, my emotional support animal, will likely die tonight from dehydration. Had Shelley Veterinarian Hospital the capacity for care, due diligence, competence and clear communication I could have made other arrangements. I did my part; they failed to deliver the level of care that healthcare demandsespecially of those who cannot represent themselves nor communicate their needs. This is not a health clinic. This is a sorry clinic. Furthermore, a formal complaint has been launched to the ***** Board of Veterinary Medicine exacting the events that took place on this 27th day of December, 2021. Should there be a negative turn of events regarding the health of my dog, legal action may too follow.
