I went to Meineke last week for a leak in my tire. Turns out my valve stem was leaking. I have sensors in my tires for tire pressure. The sensor screws to the bottom of the valve stem inside the tire. I was told it would not be cheap. The sensor would have to be replaced. They found the old one and said it is an OEM part. That means original manufacturer part. Because it was old they would not be able to replace the valve stem. I asked him for the old sensor and before he handed it to me he looked at it and said it was a Michelin sensor and they don't make them anymore. I didn't have my glasses so I couldn't read it.Before I knew it the new sensor was there. I agreed to the fix because I was told it was my only option. After it was done they tried connecting the sensor to my cars computer for almost and hour. He said one of the sensors would not connect because it was a generic sensor ******* installed. I had been there almost an hour and a half. I had to go back to work. So I told him to connectt the other 3 and I will deal with the last one at ******** When I finally drove away I notice non of the sensors where connected and now I had several lights on for service ingine and check TPS sensors. I was upset so When I got back to work I got mt glasses on and looked up the part number on it for a valve stem. The first one that popped up was from autozone for $7. The same place they nought the new sensor from. I called auto zone and they confirmed it was the correct part and the shop should have known it could be replaced. I was told meineke does that all the time to people to over charge for parts you don't need. I called corporate and they have not done much. The shop manager called and asked me to bring it back in and I laughed. I waisted to much time and money plus I don't want to be in the position when they have my car taken apart and tell me they can't fix it till I pay more. They seem very sketchy. Looks like we are going to court

First, I apologize for length of time it took and still did not get the sensors all connected to the **** Network. Usually, it only takes a few minutes when everything goes right. But we do run into a few issues with older vehicles on occasion. As for all the sketchy non-sense; the manager shared with the customer that the tire was leaking from a broken valve stem that was part of a **** Sensor. You cannot see inside the tire with x-ray vision to determine why it was leaking and what part had to be replaced. The manager shared his initial findings, the cost of the **** Sensor to make the repair, and the customer approved. Then the tech moved forward with pulling the tire. Once apart the new sensor had arrived and was installed. No one took the time to take a sensor apart to diagnose what part of a $75 sensor had failed. By the time a tech would do that, replace it with the expert diagnosis from the slanderous AutoZone representative, and then hope it worked after attaching it to a 12 year old plastic, brittle part the labor alone would have been more than $75 in itself! ******************** informed the manager that he was in a rush because he was clocked in at work. The manager told ******************** to bring it back when he had time and he would take care of the network issue. It was ********************** choice to leave. Understandable so if he had to get to work. But that is not our fault he had to leave. We offered to take care of the issue when time permitted. The manager had not heard anything from ******************** until one day an email came in complaining about the service. When the manager called to discuss why he had not brought it back and a time to set up to either defect out the part we installed or figure out what the communication problem was ******************** was rude as can be, laughed at him and hung up. The manager was baffled by this behavior. The ** tried to contact ******************** to find out what the issue was/is and never reached him. After reviewing this particular review and revisiting the corporate email we still do not know what ******************** wants. If he took it somewhere else and it was found something was done incorrectly then we need to know. One said ******************** wanted a refund. A refund for what? He came in with a leak in the tire, the tire does not leak anymore. He bought a new sensor. If the sensor is defective the sensor has a warranty at any Meineke Nationwide. If there is an issue with that particular staff and ********************, we have 9 others on this side of the river that he can set up a time with the ** to visit one of them. We didnt charge ******************** 1.5 hours to do anything. He again paid $19.99 for labor and $74.99 for the part. We did not charge to recalibrate the Network.
