This company has been withdrawing $40 a month from our **** of America account since 2006 for an Accidental Death insurance policy. We never authorized this activity nor have any documentation for this policy. It is my understanding that there was an agreement between the **** and Insurance company that ended some time in 2013 but the company continues to illegally withdraw funds from our account.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and must reluctantly accept this response.    This technique of selling insurance however is deceitful at best; and as far as we understand there have been wide ranging complaints.  The agent we spoke with indicated that materials regarding the insurance were mailed out but we never received them.  We will consider this a hard and costly ****** learned.

      Sincerely,

      *************************

With no permission, this company has been drawing $40 (standing order) from my **** of America account for over two years. I have only realised this recently. I have seen many reports online of similar scamming by this company. https://www.latimes.com/business/la-xpm-2011-jun-24-*****-lazarus-20110624-story.html

I and my husband, ***************************** had PRIVACY ASSIST accounts offered through Intersections, *** for years. Recently I changed my account payment method on both accounts and nothing out of the ordinary happened. Then I got issued a new card when the card expired and went to update the payment methods again on both accounts for PRIVACY ASSIST. As soon as I did this, charges appeared on my credit card account for $8 twice for each account. Something appeared on those charges called Identity Guard, which I did not recognize nor sign up for when I updated the PRIVACY ASSIST payment methods for both accounts. I called my credit union right away and they declined the charges and removed the credit card ending in ****. I had to get issued a new credit card. I am still waiting on causing much inconvenience. Once this happened, we went to the PRIVACY ASSIST accounts and cancelled both accounts. I got confirmation on 6 March that the accounts would be cancelled when the next payment was due. On 12 March, I got confirmation via email that the PRIVACY ASSIST account was cancelled for myself. Then an update my details request. On 14 March, my husband *****************************, got his confirmation that his PRIVACY ASSIST account was cancelled as well as a request to update the payment method. Since cancelling my credit card and the accounts, there have been attempts to take payments from this card ending in **** on 12 March (me), 13 March (me), 14 March (both), 15 March (me), 16 March (both), 17 March (both). This is flat out fraud, as the accounts were cancelled on 6 March and confirmed on 12 and 14 March respectively. If the credit card had not already been closed the payments would have gone through. I have sent further instructions to my credit union to ensure that any PRIVACY ASSIST transactions are completely blocked so when I get my new credit card they are not able to get payment since the accounts are closed. This has caused a great deal of inconvenience.
