On 9/28/2021, I paid $88.20 for 3 years of website and email hosting at Host Metro, using Paypal. They offered CPanel services (a software interface needed for my website to work, due to error logging on PHP errors), and claimed they had 99% uptime.In July, they had a server failure, leading to site downtime for several days. Several permissions and settings were not set correctly by their technicians on the new server, resulting in a long back-and-forth with support, as I had to have them keep fixing their mistakes.In October, they performed another server migration, again leading to site downtime for several days. Again, several permissions and settings were not set correctly by their technicians. As of two weeks later, not all the permissions had been fully restored on their end.Also, incoming e-mail was down silently for a week; customers e-mailing me would not be getting their messages through, and I would have no indication that my e-mail wasn't receiving incoming e-mail or that they were trying to reach me. This was due to an error on Host Metro's part.With more than a week of downtime, this falls far short of the 99% uptime guarantee, and doesn't include the numerous other downtimes throughout the year (due to unscheduled HostMetro maintenance, or SSL failures on their end, documented in my support tickets).Finally, Host Metro indicated that they would no longer be offering the CPanel software that my website needs (with error logging critical to my website operation and development). Instead of refunding me the money I paid for a service they are no longer offering, they offered only to transition my account to another company they are partnered with - a company with whom I do not have a relationship with and do not wish to use. They are insisting on keeping my money - despite no longer providing the services I paid for, and failing their own uptime promises.Managers won't talk on the phone or reply to my issues, and I'm hung up on when I call.
