On 7/24/22 I found Laptopnuts.com on the Internet. On that day they quoted me a price they would pay me of $120 specifically being told the laptop being sent was more then 2 years old if I shipped it to them. They provided the shipping label. They received my used laptop at there place of business on 8/8/22 per my *** tracking number. On 8/19/22 they sent me a follow up e mail saying my Laptop was to old and they refused to pay the $120 quote. In the same e mail they told me to send them a shipping label to have it returned to me at my cost. I will not be sending any such label. No where back on the initial quote dated 7/24/22 did they state they would not be paying if the laptop received was more then 2 years old. I have attached the initial quote from 7/24/22 and there refusal to pay from 8/19/22.Business response

***************** is falsifying the information, as initial quote was submitted for Asus K501 laptop however we have received very old laptop Asus K50I which is not on our purchase list. We have indicated that laptop is not on our purchase list since laptop is simply too old. We can ether recycle it or if shipping label is provide we can return it back. In return ***************** only mentioned that he submitted quote correctly as he indicated that laptop is over 2 years old, however did not comment main issues that laptop is completely different model( we are attaching pictures of the laptop where it clearly shows laptop model). We have contacted ***************** and idnicated that mistakes can happen to everyone and we will gladly return laptop back at our expense, however ***************** has accuses as as thieves and threats to complain he still insisted on 120$ which we refused and we have decided to return his laptop at our own expense via FedEx 777727849465, we have provided tracking, however he is now claiming that he will be gone from 8/26/22 until 9/12/22.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because: The model # both in there reply and my initial request appear to be the same. Other then initially stating the laptop to be more then 2 years old I don't know how I would have known it was to old for them. I am not intentionally falsifying any information. I reported the model # to be that in there reply and my flight to **** ** departs ******* tonight 8/25/22 at 10:15pm and I don't return to my residence until my flight returns on 9/11/22 at 10:25pm from ********* **. If there so adamant I misrepresented to them what I had please have the business just dispose of the laptop if it holds no value. Thank You.
Sincerely,

In the original quote model number of the laptop was chosen as Asus K501, we have received completely different laptop model which is not on our purchase list Asus K50I. In our previous message clear pictures were attached. Also both parties have attached exact copies of the email conversation where it's clearly indicated. As a good will we have return laptop with provided tracking number.Initial Complaint

Laptopnuts gave me a written quote of $320 for my Surface Pro 7 laptop. In asking for a quote, I disclosed in advance the amount of RAM and the type of processor the device has. I also said it is in good condition under Laptopnuts' criteria. Six days after receiving the device (contrary to their website's promise of "an immediate evaluation to confirm the original quote"), Laptopnuts revised its offer downward by $70 (more than 20%) based on the "tech configuration (size of ram and type of processor)" and its assertion that the device was only in "fair" condition because it allegedly had "some scratches" on the "back surface." As stated, I had disclosed the size of RAM and type of processor when I asked for a quote, so the company presumably had already factored that in to its original quote. The attached picture, which I took AFTER Laptopnuts returned the device, refutes the assertion that there were "some scratches" on the back cover. I do not know why Laptopnuts changed its offer by so much, but the reasons it gave are fictitious, making me think the company has a practice of "finding" flaws, whether real or not, and then downgrading offers after receiving the item, in the belief that the customer will not want to go through the time, expense and effort of having the item returned. (This is the second time Laptopnuts downgraded the condition of one of my devices; the first time was an old device that was on the border of fair and poor, so I did not mind; this time is different.) At this point, I will hold on to the device, so I am not asking Laptopnuts to adhere to its original offer. But I would like them to reimburse me the $18.95 it cost me to have *** ship the device back to **** am attaching pictures of the laptop (after the company returned it), proof of payments to ***, and my correspondence with Laptopnuts regarding this transaction.Business response

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********. While I continue to disagree with the company's assertion in its response that the laptop had scratches on it, I find that the company's resolution -- reimbursing my shipping costs for return of the laptop -- is satisfactory to me. I appreciate the company's quick response and resolving this case in the manner I requested.
Sincerely,
