I was referred to this salon from a family friend. On April 2, 2022 at approximately 3:00pm, I made an appointment over the phone with ******* for a pedicure and brow wax for April 8th beginning at 12:30pm . She informed me that there was a $40 booking fee that would go towards my services. This is typically done for more expensive services that are time consuming, but because of my relationship with a client of hers, I provided her with my credit card information. The day of my appointment around 11:29am, I texted her to inform her that my sister had been rushed to the hospital and was having an emergency brain surgery. That I was over an hour away and would arrive late and asked for available options to reschedule. She sent me a link to rebook and when questioned her about the payment I made, she provided a second link pertaining to her booking policy. Her booking policy mentions a $20 online booking fee that is non-refundable if cancel. To begin with, I paid $40.00 and contacted her to reschedule. I had an emergency and was baffled at her response towards a new client. I decided to just deal with my banking institution and share my experience with her client who referred me as well as other potential clients. However, the following day there was an unauthorized $5.00 withdrawn from my account, listed as a one-time charge from this company. At this point, the owner has represented herself as a thief. It also confirms that she unknowing to me saved all my credit card information including my security code. I am very familiar with practices of the beauty industry as my mother owned a salon in *******'s Gold Coast for 45 years. She made no attempt to reschedule my appointment, references a policy that doesn't apply to me in order to keep $40, and has the audacity to steal from me the following day. This is not only unlawful, but unprofessional and tacky. ************** is a fraud and I will continue to report her with the appropriate authorities.
