We hired NRH to demolish an old addition, build a new addition and build a simple stick frame garage on our property. The owner, *************************, was enthusiastic at first, but as time went on, we had to badger him via phone and text to continue the partially-finished job. When we could get him out to our home, he would only work for about half a day before leaving, and the process would continue the same way, with ever increasing phone calls to get him to return to the job. The man used literally every excuse you can think of to delay coming or not show up at all (had to get a full-time job to avoid foreclosure on his residence, our materials hard to procure, child was sick, truck broke down, employees quit, girlfriend problems etc.). When the first part of the project was finally finished (demolition), he then told us that the job price was likely going to change. The addition was our bedroom, so we were forced to move into the family room until the job was complete, which dragged out to more than a year once he broke ground, though he accepted the job 6 months before that time. We had to pay for several extensions to our building permit through this ordeal due to his stalling, and he charged us more for other parts of the job he already agreed to that he later tried to leave undone, or even worse, did incorrectly before looking at our blueprints. At the very end of the last permit extension we could have through the city, he essentially told us via text he no longer wanted to do the work at all because it wasn't on his schedule, forcing us to go through other contractors to complete it in a hurry. For the work he did do, it was done shoddily.- (bad lumber, poor workmanship (things not nailed correctly, laid out correctly or finished according to the blueprints), dump-like condition of the jobsite (our HOME)... You name it. This man has done this to at least one other person I have read about online. We hope others see this warning and avoid him like the plague.
