I spent over $300 to ship wool to this mill for processing in September 2021. I finally received it back end of August 2022, so one full year. They charged me almost $560 to process it, so I have around $1000 into it. They sent the wool back to me processed, but so full of hay as to be unusable, and certainly nothing that I could sell. To clarify, I am NOT a business. This is my first time processing wool. I had considered taking it, possibly, to local farm markets, etc. I also wanted it for gifts and for my own use. I cannot do anything with it as is. They offered me a $200 refund, which doesn't even cover my initial shipping costs. I would like a full refund.Business response

The fiber sent to us was in poor condition with a lot of hay and vegetable matter in it. Customer did not state this before sending. Our price list clearly states that all of the hay cannot be removed during processing. Attached price list is one valid when fiber was sent. Our lead time is always 9 months to a year for competition.
The customer was offered a refund if they returned the material. They declined. Gave customer $237 credit as good will.

I am rejecting this response because: I have email correspondence to prove that I made the condition of the fiber known and the mill agreed to take it and deal with it as is. I expected a usable product in return.Sending them the fiber back would mean that I cannot even attempt to save it. Also, even with a full refund, I would still be out over $300 in initial shipping cost. I asked for a partial refund on the roving,, as that is much worse off as far as hay content than the yarn. They refused.
As I stated before,, the refund I received didn't even covery shipping cost,, let alone my time that I will have to put into fixing their inferior product.
Since this happened, I have reached out to other fiber folks and none of them have ever heard of such a thing happening. It really is a major, major loss for a homestead as small as mine.

I have the corresponding emails also and the amount of hay was not discussed. Our information clearly states that we cannot remove all of it. We did take extra time and steps to try to get the fiber in better shape. The yarn spun well. We have a lot of time and costs invested in the processing. Tell us why here...Customer response

I am rejecting this response because: I described it as untouched and very unclean. They said to send as is. At no point in the almost year they had my wool did they communicate with me, let alone call and tell me there would be no way to get the hay out. I have asked around and no one else thinks this is normal.
