I inquired about a 2023 Sportage Plug-In hybrid that was listed on the website. The O’Brien Kia website had it listed for $40,190. I decided to drive over on Sunday to look at it and the window sticker also had the price of $40,190. When Brian R*** at O’Brien contacted me on Monday, he stated the price was $5000 more than what was listed on their website AND on the car itself. Stay far away from them. They advertise one price and tell you another without any explanation.

This specific vehicle had just been traded to us by another dealer. Currently, every Sportage Plug-In Hybrid has a market adjustment due to supply and demand. Once vehicles arrive at our dealership, they get stocked into inventory and then the market adjustment will be applied to the price online as well as the physical vehicle itself. This vehicle had just arrived over the weekend so the system would not update until Monday. We explained this to Mr. ***** as well as have told Mr. Morse on several occasions prior to this one how these vehicles are priced based on market conditions.

Brought my car in 6/30/22 for a tune up and valve cover gasket replacement. Arrived at 0900 hours and was told it would be a "couple of hours". I decided to stay and wait. At 1230, 3 1/2 hours later, I was told the car was ready. I paid the bill and left. Once at home I looked over the bill in detail and saw the charge for repairs was $214.01 for parts and $713.03 for labor. I computed that 3 1/2 hours of work at a cost of $713.03 equated to a labor per hour charge of $203.71. I then called Kia and asked for the repair maintenance manager and asked what their charge per hour for labor was. I was told the charge per hour was $158.45. When I asked how 3 1/2 hours of labor on my car was $43.26 higher than what i was told the charge per hour rate was, I was told the tune up took three (3) hours and the valve cover gasket replacement took 1 1/2 hours and that each was charge d separately. Having my car in service for 3 1/2 hours and being charged for 4 1/2 hours of labor is not right. Mechanics had to be working on my vehicle at the same time. To separate charges for labor when the vehicle is being worked on by two mechanics is highway robbery and unethical to say the least. I would like to know just what the justification is for this manner of charging a customer. I know I will get a BS answer that this is what the book says BUT THAT DOESN'T MAKE IT RIGHT.
