On 5/13 we purchased services from Weed Man. After 6 days they hadn't come out they said due to rain - but there had been several sunny days. We ended up having time to spread some weed control ourselves and decided to cancel. They made it incredibly difficult to cancel and gave us the runaround. We have still not received a refund for our first installment of 54.66.Initial Complaint

I gave weed man permission last year to fertilize my lawn, they came this year and applied more product without my approval and is sending me a bill for the amount of $59. I never gave them permission to start the process for this 2022 year. I have expressed this with them and told them that I did not approve of them coming to my yard without my approval and it is falling on deaf ears.Business response

Hello,
Mr. ***** hired us to be his lawn care provider, and we continue to maintain the lawn until we are directed otherwise by our customers. We make this very clear to all of our new customers: It is we discussed with the homeowner when we are bringing them on for service the first time, and we include the information on our welcome packet. To make sure our customers know we will continue service in the spring, we also send several emails over the off season that indicate that we will be out in spring. In addition, we send an email, and in Mr. *****'s case a text message, at least 1 day before service to remind the customer that we will be at their property doing lawn service.
We completed these pre-notifications, in the case of Mr. ***** service for his lawn at *** **** **, an email and text message was sent on 3/11/2022 at 10:10AM, and service was completed on 3/14/2022 at 12:41PM. We did not receive any indication by email, call, or text that we were not to complete the service, therefore the service was completed as indicated.
As we were not informed before the service was completed that the customer did not wish to continue our relationship, we consider the bill as valid.

Date of transaction: 10/5/21 Account # SPIL-0308007 I have spoken with ***** and ***** several times and have received several emails from ***** and others. They spoke with technician ****** who I thought was there putting down a fall fertilizer or weed control on my lawn and he offered me grub control while he was there and he quoted a price of $162 and I received a bill for $470. He said it would kill, grubs, army worms, ticks, fleas. I said ok. They are saying it is a legit charge and the $162 was for army worms only. I never would have agreed to $470. I am willing to pay the $162 but not the additional $308. I never ordered grub control and had turned it down when they had called me on the phone previously and tried to sell it to me and only agreed to it because he was already there and he showed me a grub he said he found in the yard and I thought the $162 was acceptable.Business response

Hello **** *******,
After review, we will honor the $162 price for the grub post-emergent control. We are unsure how this mix-up happened as we have separate applications for the grub controls and for the armyworm control - we will review with our technician on properly quoting for applications.
The balance on your account is now only the $162 left outstanding for the application, I have removed the other $308 from the balance. ***** will be reaching out to you today by phone as well. Please let me know if there is anything else we can do - either by calling at ************, or emailing at *******************
Thank you for being a great part of the Weed Man Family!

I hired Weedman to aerate and fertilize my lawn. On 10/3 I received a text saying they would be here 10/4 to fertilize and diagnose (so I could unlock my back gate). On 10/4 I observed the Weedman truck parked in front of my neighbors home and awaited the service tech’s presence in my back yard. He never appeared. Later that day, I received an email showing a photo of a weed he “diagnosed” there are many in my backyard and stating that he moved the dog toys prior to treating my lawn. None of this is true. I do not have any of this weed (maybe I have one, maybe) and NONE of my dogs toys were moved, but MORE IMPORTANTLY, I was home the entire time. My work area faces my backyard, my dogs also go nuts when anyone enters “their” yard. He simply didn’t do the work (on my property), he professes to. Perhaps he treated the wrong property, I don’t know, but Weedman is not responding to me via phone or email. It’s unacceptable. I feel They are dishonest. This is my first experience w them.Business response

Hi ****,
We are concerned to hear about your experience and we are sorry that you have had a hard time getting a hold of us. We absolutely want to make this right & verify that the service you ordered was done correctly. I know we were back out today, 10/7, to make sure that the treatment was put down properly, and hope this is to your satisfaction. We want the same thing you do, a beautiful lawn, but we need to be careful that we do not over-apply products to the area, so we had to attempt to verify that the application was not completed. It’s unfortunate that we got off on the wrong foot, but we can assure you that we would never intentionally be dishonest. We apologize for any inconvenience!
Thank you – **** ***
