The Done Right Roofing **** (DRR) was hired on September 2023. I received a quote on 8/24/2023 for $5,500.00 from ***** with DRR (attached) and hired the contractor on 9/6/2023. There was also an option for additional $600 to install new roof copings. I elected the new roof copings. The initial install of copings was sloppy, and they were sticking out and were not flashed with the wall. I called ***** and the crew removed them and reinstalled. The contract says that labor is guaranteed for 4 years. On May 3, 2024 pieces of coping fly off my roof. I called ***** and he told me that it was due to the wind, and it is not covered by the warranty. I disagreed with him and told him that the copings were not correctly installed and should have not been blown away with an average wind. When the copings got blown off the roof, I noticed that DRR used a 1.5 screws (please see the attached picture) which is not sufficient to mount anything to the roof. I had to call a roofing company since DRR would not honor their warranty, because I was worried about additional pieces of coping flying off the roof and hitting someone. In addition, not having coping on the roof can cause water damage. The profesional roofer that I hired removed the extra loose pieces and stated that the material used for the copings is not the correct material by industry standards. He also took photos that reveal that DRR did not water seal the entire roof, as it shows on the picture that the rubber stops by the parapet. In addition, the material used by DRR is for window trim not for roof copings. I am waiting on a quote for the new copings, removal and water sealing the parapet and re-install of new copings. I want DRR to return my $600 that I paid for copings and additional $400 for not properly installing the bitumen rubber to go on the parapet. I need to hire a roofer to remanufacture and re-install the copings. I paid DRR $5,000 due to a bulk discount (my 4 other neighbors also hired DRR). thank you
