I purchase a vehicle on 08/22 and was approved for financing through Credit Acceptance. I was making my monthly payments when all of a sudden I was told that my account had been closed. When I requested information from Credit Acceptance they stated that the owner of the dealership never mailed them the vehicle registration. Therefore, they had mailed a check for all payments made back to Castle Motorworks. The owner of this dealership is a thief. He prays on people that have poor to no credit. Do not purchase a vehicle from this establishment.

January 19,2022 I went to Castle Motorworks to get a vehicle. I paid ******* in a down payment. Paperwork was drawn. Paperwork indicated that credit acceptance would be the lien holder until payments were completed. I made payments beginning in February 2022 to credit acceptance. They closed out my account because castle motorworks did not send the title over. All the registration and title work was done electronically, ******* the owner said that ***** lost the title. Credit acceptance sent all my payments back to castle motorworks closed my account canceled my warranty. Castle has sold me a car without a title. He has charges me doc fee and the state fees totaling ****** and the extended warranty *******. But its all null and vowed. He has broken not only state laws but FEDERAL laws. I was give plates that the secretary of state told me are not registered to anyone and my actual registration is stuck in ert. My sons safety is at stake because this company knowingly sold a car without title.

      Business response

      10/24/2022

Castle Motorworks Company did indeed sell a vehicle to *************************** on 1-19-2022 that was financed by ***************************** and they were listed as the lienholder on the title. Castle Motorworks Company registered the vehicle  on 1-19-22 and  sent the paperwork to The *** department in *********** ******** via Fed-Ex on 2-12-2022. I did not realize that the  title paperwork was never delivered until June of 2022. At that point I began contacting my CVR rep by phone and email on the process of getting the lost  title issue resolved. I had no control over the lost paperwork. Credit ********************** did reassign the deal back to Castle Motorworks Company along with a check for the payments that *************************** made to them .All terms of the Contract remain for   *************************** the only thing that changes is to whom  she should  now make her payments. She should make her payments to Castle Motorworks Company.

      Complaint: 18202263

I am rejecting this response because: I disagree with the response from Castle Motorworks Company for the reasons below:
      1. Credit ********************** was never listed as lien holder on title (please see attached from Secretary of ******** showing last title issuance 8/2021
      2. Castle Motorworks Company never registered the vehicle. If it was purchased on 01/19/2022 by ******** law you have 20 days to switch title and registration over you stated 2/12/22 this is 4 days past the legal time and the vehicle is still not registered.  (See attached via Secretary of State)

      3. Credit Acceptance contacted Castle Motorworks company on numerous occasions trying to retrieve the title with no success. As they are also aware of the time frame that they have to transfer title. Credit Acceptance has also been in communication with ******** Secretary of State.

      3. If ************************* of Castle Motorworks is stating he realized in June of 2022 that the paperwork was never delivered why did he never go and get a new title from Secretary of State as the account with credit acceptance was not closed out until September which gave Castle Motorworks plenty of time to go and apply for lost title. Why did ************************* (owner of Castle Motorworks Company) never contact me about the lost titleand vehicle not being properly registered once he found out? If Credit Acceptance closed the account in September 2022 why did Castle Motorworks never contact me. I went online to pay credit acceptance and discovered account was closed.

      4. When contacting ***** with the tracking number on the paperwork that Castlemotor works attached they stated the package was in overgoods and that Castle motorworks could pick it up. If I was able to obtain this information with just a tracking number why could ************************* (owner of Castle Motorworks Company and alleged sender of the package Not contacted ***** and pick it up and resolve issue.
      5. There is no contract in place for myself and Castle Motorworks as it is ILLEGAL to sell a car without the title so how can I be in a contract with him. He does not have any paperwork with a contract with myself and castle motorworks. My contract was with Credit acceptance and when Castle Motorworks sold the car without a title he rescinded that contract that he had with Credit Acceptance . This is the reason the account was closeout.  The returned all funds I paid to him however the check is made out to me.

      6. Castle Motorworks has been informed that I did not want to renegotiate and do new terms with him as he has not been deemed trustworthy.

      7. Castle Motorworks received a demand letter on 10/18/22 see attached and has not responded. (It is legal to send via email in the state of ******** proof that Castle Motorworks Company does access the email the demand letter was send is through their response to this BBB complaint sent to the company via email. A copy was also send via mail.

      8. Castle motorworks has broken laws by selling a car without title.

      9. A police report has been filed with ***************************, ******** Secretary of ************* A complaint has been made with the Ftc and the ******** attorney generals office as well as the ******** financial protection bureau.

      10. Here is a link to the laws in regards to vehicles in ********

      Sincerely,

      ***************************

YOU ARE A VICTIM ONCE YOU WALK IN THE DOOR. We met ******* who seems to be the only person working at Castle Motorworks. He seemed to be knowledgeable. We bought my son a 2012 Buick LaCrosse May 19, 2022. Literally 3 weeks later the transmission was dead! We had it towed to GM dealership where we were told the warranty we bought with the car would not cover it due to us not having ***** miles on the vehicle past the purchase date. ******* offered to bring it back to the garage at Castle to get the mileage we needed for the warranty to cover the trans repair. After a couple weeks he had the mileage, dont know how. Once the repairs were complete, the warranty company still denied the coverage because of some loophole. Worst experience Ive ever had with buying a car. Today is July 30, 2022 and we just got the car back from the mechanics $3,000 later. 2.5 months since we bought the car and my son only drove it for 3 weeks. I will not stop reporting this business. This place is a RIP OFF!! I believe they did something unethical to get extra mileage on the car because the car was not drivable! How can we buy a car and have the transmission go bad within the first 30 days and they have no responsibility for it. I believe the dealership knew the transmission was bad when they sold it to us. I saw reviews for them on ****** and someone else bought a car with a bad transmission from them. How is this not illegal? I would appreciate some compensation for this.
