I went to the company to get my engine replaced. The initial amount discussed was ****. I put a down payment of ****. I have been calling and checking in with them on multiple occasions and they never told me the price would be increasing by ****. We just spoke right before Christmas. He never mentioned that would be the price they want me to come up with on top of storage fees. They went and did excessive extra work and never consulted with me about any of it since we last spoke last week.Business response

To whom it may concern,
Regarding the replacement of the engine of the *** the verbal agreement was $3800 for the engine depending on the mileage and availability plus $1300 for labor plus tax. If vehicle needs any additional parts that would be extra.cust was told that his vehicle was not running correctly after the installation was completed and that there is a communication issue with the vehicle on board computer and that the vehicle battery was no good and needed to be replaced. Customer did acknowledge the issue and knew the add repair was needed. Mind you we received the vehicle with a locked up engine and had no clue how the vehicle would run after installation. Vehicle also needed ign coils and tuning, which is not part of original estimate. The vehicle is completely finished and now runs like a brand new car! Thank you

I am rejecting this response because: That was never the verbal agreement. I picked that company because of the low price I was given. I simply would have taken the car to ********** who I previously turned down due to the pricing being similarly high. When we first spoke I told him I had budget of **************************************** that price range. I never was notified about any extra work outside of a battery. The only thing I was told was about him figuring out why the engine light was still on. That of which once he figured out he should have been calling and notifying me of any problems before doing any unauthorized work. Hes now trying to implicate the unauthorized work was something we previously discussed and its not. I never had the idea that Id be paying anything over maybe 4300.

Hello,
The vehicle in question was picked up and the customer was given a discount. The customer was explained as to why the engine cost more and why it needed additional tuning parts 5o make it run correctly. We gave the customer a big discount anyway and they agreed and signed the receipt. Thank you again from all of us at b&b auto service.
