My husband and I purchased an engine from these fraudulent jerks on 4/29/2024. My husband asked do they test the engines to make sure they are working and was told by the salesman ****** that yes they test them and the engine works. We got the engine in and found out on Saturday 6/22/2024 from our mechanic that it was a bad engine which cost us another $350. I called Calumet city auto wreckers on Saturday and spoke with ***** and he told me he would let the owner know what was going on. ***** asked me what code was coming up, I told P0304. This could be a number of things but all those things were tested in front of my husband who is a diesel mechanic and was told there is no compression. ***** told me ****** was on vacation and couldnt nobody help me until Monday 6/24/2024. So I called yesterday and was giving the run around. I asked multiple times for the owner and dont nobody know where he is and just want me to leave a message. I asked for ***** and was told he was not in the office. ****** only wants to give me another engine which is not going to work for me seeing as we are already out of over $3,000 for this engine. Installing a engine isnt cheap with all the gaskets, filters, fluids, and other electrical components I refused to do this all over again. I requested a refund from ****** and he told me I could only get another engine or store. No! W** Im supposed to do with $1100 in store credit then had the audacity to tell me they gone charge me a restocking fee! Since they want to play games with people money Im about to hall they *** in court! This is ridiculous they have done this to multiple people and they keep getting away with it! Im about to make an example out of them! I will be going to the news media!

I purchased a used engine for $1,455 from Calumet City Auto Wreckers on Thursday 9/7/23 for my work vehicle. The salesperson name was ********. ******** assured me that the working engine would arrive at my mechanic shop on the following Monday or Tuesday at the latest, it did not arrive until Thursday 9/14/23. The engine was bad and had not been tested prior to being delivered. on 9/15/23 I contacted ******** and requested my money back but he refused and insisted that they would pick up the bad engine and deliver a working engine with higher miles on it on 9/18/23. On 9/18/23 I called my mechanic shop and the engine had not arrived yet, when I called City Auto back to investigate I was told that ******** was off of work that day and that the new engine was delivered directly to City Auto because ******** forgot to write the address of my mechanic shop on the invoice when ordering the engine. Finally the new engine was delivered to my mechanic shop on 9/19/23. It took my Mechanic 2 days to install the new engine, this one was bad as well. My mechanic took videos of both bad engines. After being informed of this bad news, I called City Auto on 9/22/23 and requested a refund again, to which this time ******** agreed. However, he has to first get someone out to pick up the bad engine and therefore could not give me a time frame as to when I will receive my refund. City Auto is not testing their engines prior to selling them, causing me to lose thousands of dollars in labor cost, thousands of dollars in lost wages and still a broken down vehicle that has to be fixed. The only number that is listed on the payment receipt is order #*******

Date of transaction: September 22, 2022 The amount paid: $2400.00 asking for $ ******* back, I had to pay an additional $1200 to have motor reinstalled. The issue is: Calumet City Auto Wreckers Representative *** ordered an engine for ************************ 2007 engine. The mechanic who received the engine installed the engine and it failed to work. The mechanic checked the *** number etched onto the replacement engine and determined that the engine was not the 2007 engine required by ************************, but rather a 2008engine. Although your company did agree to accept the return of the improper 2008 engine and refunded ************************ purchase price, your company refused to reimburse ************************ the labor cost incurred in installing the incorrect engine. The mechanic ordered and installed the correct engine for, but had to charge ******************** labor cost for both engines. So I am asking to be reimbursed $******* for the second installation.
