      This owner was very rude and hard to work with! I provided her with pictures of the cake that we wanted for our wedding, she used the wrong color and upon delivery when it was pointed out by me she came back to correct it and wrote the wrong date on our cake. During our reception I had a many guest approach me to discuss the dryness of the cake, that it did not taste right, and overall was crumbling when trying to cut it because it was so dry. When I approached the owner after the wedding to discuss the concerns that were brought up at the wedding the owner became very defensive, raised her voice, stated that she cannot please everybody. When I asked her for a partial refund she stated I have already spoken to my attorney I do not have to refund you anything and I am not going to pay for your wedding cake and hung up on me. I Never asked for a full refund I simply asked for a partial refund as there were multiple things wrong with the cake especially since during tasting before hiring her we went in depth about me not wanting a dry cake at my wedding. And that we were having a Cubs theme wedding and how I wanted the cake to look! I paid her close to 600.00. The owner never apologized and treated me horrible when I tried to speak to her. She also told me she has never had anyone say her cakes are dry, and when I went to goggle to leave a review I saw multiple complaints of dry cakes. I would not recommend this vendor for any wedding needs.

      We delivered the customer’s wedding cake to her venue on 6-18-2022.  While delivering the cake, the bride made a remark that the color of the marquee was not supposed to be brown and should’ve been red. I was not aware that it was supposed to be a different color than what was in the photo that the bride provided during her cake consultation. Since I had a short window open before my next wedding cake had to be delivered, I ran to the store to purchase the red color fondant that the bride wanted the marquee to be, along with all the tools that I needed to make the change since I was not in my shoppe. After returning to the venue, I changed the color of the marquee and reapplied the wedding date that came off the original marquee when we made the delivery, double checking that everything was correct including the wedding date. When I left the venue, everything on the wedding cake was correct according to the bride’s request including the wedding date of “6-18-2022”.

      The following Wednesday the bride’s mother came in to pick up the anniversary cake that she ordered, which was requested to be frozen. While the mother was at my business, she was making derogatory comments the duration of her visit regarding her daughter’s wedding cake. Shortly after she left, I received a phone call from the bride, who was on her honeymoon, where she was upset because “the cake wasn’t in the bag to be put in the freezer” that her mother picked up. However, her mother refused the bag after offering it to her during her visit before her daughter’s phone call. The bride went on to say that the date on the marquee was incorrect, and she wanted to know what kind of refund she was going to get and that the cake was dry. I explained that I do not normally have a complaint on the dryness of my cakes. I suggested that she enjoy her honeymoon and to give me a call when she returned so that we could further discuss her concerns. She then told me that she would start her review and post her bad reviews if I was going to blow her off. I explained that I was not blowing her off, and that I wanted her to enjoy her honeymoon and not let this issue ruin it. She agreed and called me the following Tuesday. 

      Immediately after calling me, she demanded that she deserved a refund for her wedding cake and I offered her $50 as a good faith effort, knowing that the wedding date was correct on the cake at the time that I left. She said that she deserved more than $50 because her cake was dry & no one ate it. While describing to me which tiers she felt were dry of her 4-tier cake, the flavor that was chosen for 2 tiers only had one tier that was considered dry. She also said that I was a terrible business owner and should not be in business. She guaranteed me that if I did not refund her total that she would ruin my business. That evening after our conversation, I was contacted by other business owners and previous customers stating that the bride and her family & friends were contacting them making rude comments and remarks. After checking my business ******** page, I saw many, many reviews that were being left by people who have never been customers of mine using fowl language. I was also made aware of reviews being left on Google referring to the same bride’s wedding from people who are not my customers. I feel as if my customers, myself, and my business have been harassed and bullied by this bride, while I went out of my way to make the color change that she wanted after seeing the cake in person and spent money on tools and supplies to make the change possible while having the same things at my business.

       I am rejecting this response because:

      Almost everything written is a lie!!! I never threaten or bullied this owner! I can Not control people who ate her cake at my wedding and felt it necessary to leave a review because it was that bad! I NEVER once asked for a full refund I asked for a partial! The picture I sent her of the cake I wanted CLEARLY Showed the marquee is red! And when she left there was no 1 on the cake! She was In a hurry and failed to make the correct corrections on what she messed up in the first place! She told me she had spoke. To her attorney and she didn’t have to refund me anything! I was at work when we spoke on the phone and NEVER once raised my voice however she was yelling at me and being very rude! I apologized to her several times that if hearing her cake was dry was upsetting but that as a bride I was very upset when most of my guests complained to me about the cake and how dry it was! She is also clearly lying about complaints of dryness as when you go on Google reviews there are multiple complaints of the cake being dry, one review was how she messed up somebody’s name! This is clearly not a first unfortunate mistake but yet a business owner who does not care about her paying customers experiences! I only asked for the apology I should have received from the start and a partial refund which I believe is fair.
