    The date of the transaction was February 6, 2024 and the amount paid to the business was $1,777.00 by check. The nature of the dispute is the business rep on site wrote up a summary proposal of work to be done and the cost costs of the work. The summary was not clear to me so I asked the rep direct questions to get a direct answer verbally as to what would be done and at what cost. The rep seemingly answered the questions differently than what was written and did not do the work based on the answers to the questions I asked (i.e., replacing the flashing around the chimney vs the rep only caulking around the chimney, not fully sealing the mortar inside the house fireplace which resulted in me buying a $5 bottle of mortar and completing it myself, and caulking around a chimney cap vs replacing the chimney cap). The actual work was written up on invoice after the work was done instead of before hand which is why I had to ask questions to get clear answers and seemingly appears to be deceptive tactics.) After the rep and another rep was done it appears all they did was caulk around the chimney, cap a pipe inside the fireplace, and half fill the back wall of the fireplace with mortar. After finding this out I relayed to the rep on site as well as immediately called their home office and stated that the supposed discount was no discount because they bumped up the verbal quote of $1700 to $1800 so giving the discount is no real discount and the charges for the work that they did do which was different from what was answered to me was not even worth $800 let alone $1800. I exchanged emails and phone calls with reps at their main office and contacted the Illinois ************************* and filed a complaint. I have emails that I can forward to the BBB that will explain everything that has transpired up to this point. My last request to the company was to refund me $777 although I think it should be more and their response is do I them to send me a check for $328.

    Very friendly. Had them out to fix a gas fireplace that we had been having issues with for the last year. The appointment went very smooth and the fireplace works as if it was new. Extremely happy.
