On April 1st, 2024, I submitted my monthly rent to Carol Stream Crossing Apartment in Carol Stream, ********. I have been supporting my mother who is 82 years old for 2 years at that apartment. For those 2 years, I have NEVER missed paying a rent or had late rent payment.Last January, the apartment management went with a new vendor for rent payments. They have requested all the tenants to sign up for the new vendor and pay via the new system. So I did in starting February 2024 and made my 1st payment on January 28th, 2024. However I received an error because my bank account was incorrect. So I resubmitted my payment editing my bank account and paid on *******. However I kept getting error from the new payment system. I contacted property accountant from Carol Stream Crossings and discussed why my rent did not go through. She investigated and took few days to fix the error. Additionally I was charged $25 for my mistakes and had to pay for the late/mistake I made. So I did submit my rent with the late fee.However for the March 2024 payment, I again had issue with the rent payment and the system did not take my payment on March 1st. Again I reached out to the property account and they were able to fix the error and got my payment. However I had a late payment but was cleared by the management because it was not my mistake. So now April 1st payment, I got another error and this time I was charged $100 for the late fee. I spoke to the property manager this time and discuss this matter that I had this issue in Feb and March. Therefore I should not be charged late feel plus I went to my bank get a cashier's check which cost me $10 more. She told me they will investigate and concluded it's my error and they will NOT refund $100 late fee. So my request is that I would like full refund $100 plus $10 cashier check I had to use to pay my April rent. I tried to reason this but the manager said they won't refund me because it's my mistake. Please help me . Thank you.
