On Sunday, April 14th at 7:18 (date and time on receipt) my husband went to pay and pick up our order from ******'s in ****. He brought a gift certificate in the value of $50, that my parents purchased for us as a Christmas gift. The gift certificate was purchased on 12/17/22 and is certificate number 278. There is a **** on the side stating that "Balances non-cash refundable. Expires 1 yr." It is our understanding that gift certificates cannot expire in the state of ******** in under 5 years. When we asked to use it they said it was expired and that they no longer accept gift certificates. My husband paid by credit card left a phone number and was told by the general manager that we would receive a phone call. I also sent an email that evening asking to be contacted.I called today and was told that the manager is currently unavailable and asked if I would leave a call back number. I let the lady who answered the phone know that I had been waiting for a call back since Sunday. She asked about what and I let her know the gift certificate. She seemed to know about the situation and became aggressive and rude, told me that the gift certificate is expired and that they no longer accept gift certificates at all anyway. I tried to speak with her, telling her gift certificates must last 5 years, she told me I was wrong, it's only credit cards, and hung up on me. The website below states "On or after January 1, 2008, no person shall sell a gift certificate that is subject to: (1) an expiration date earlier than 5 years after the date of issuance" ************************************************************************
