  Prior to my arrival to the hotel I was oddly called to see when it was that I was going to be arriving on Fri., Oct. 29. I stated that it would be after 7PM. Upon arrival, we checked in and were given our keys to our hotel room (#***). When we arrived to our room there were four things worth noting, of which I called down to the front desk and even asked her if she’d like to come up and see what it was that I was talking about and she stated that it was not necessary. 1. There was the distinct and heavy smell of marijuana. 2. The fire alarm in the room was off the wall; this is a fire hazard. 3. The door to the bathroom was falling apart as though someone had been punching it to bust through it. 4. The lock appeared to have been affixed to the door by a glue gun. Keep in mind that our door has direct access to the outside and there is no way of stropping any sort of intruder from walking into the hotel area and coming directly to our door. I have pictures of all of this, plus some additional other minor things: electric hazards, burnt holes in fabric, etc. When I called down to the front desk, she apologized that she did not have a similar room to switch us to and asked me what I’d like instead. I said a reduction in cost. For Friday night I was paying $312.50 and for Saturday night I was paying $374.50. I have paid less than that for a four-star hotel in the city of Chicago. I also see that on an average night for the same type of hotel room that I stayed in, you usually charge approximately $75. I paid nearly four times that, for a sub-par room where there were health and fire code violations. Mine and my husband’s safety was at stake based on the fire alarm and the lock situation. No one ever contacted me back.
