I hired *************************** (TDK Electric) to rewire half of the second floor apt. A few weeks went by and other issues came up with the electrical on the second floor again. ******* told me the new issues had nothing to do with the work he did before. He recommended I rewire the back half of the apartment and put in circuit breakers, move the meters and replace old wiring and fixtures in the basement and all the sheds. The cost was high, but I agreed and the contract was signed. On the day he started the project, the 2 guys that were supposed to help never showed up, so my ************ ended up assisting with the work! They weren't paid, nor was any of the contract discounted. ******* told me he had several other jobs going but would complete mine in a few days. He mentioned several times that he was running into problems with the cost of materials going up, and at one point, he admitted he used money I had given him to purchase materials for another job. His exact words were "I robbed ***** to pay ****." As a result, he had no materials to complete my job. The project is about 50% complete, maybe less. Twice he was supposed to come and work, but said he was too sick. He came again with his son ****** on May 12 and said he would complete the job that day. They were only there for less than 3 hours and he claimed he needed to buy more materials to finish and wanted another check. In spite of my misgivings, I wanted to get this completed and was concerned for the safety of the property and tenants. I gave him a check for $350. He cashed it immediately at my credit union (they called me) and said he would finish everything on May 16- my son's birthday. We cancelled our trip to join him in ******** and missed his birthday completely. ******* never showed up and stopped responding to my calls and texts. To date I have paid him $4500 and have little to show for it. It will cost a lot of money to find another electrician to complete the mess ******* and his son ****** left.
