      After contacting United and they decided to take no responsibility and blame other people Ive decided to write a review. By far the worst airline I have experienced. My flight was set to take off at 5:57pm and land at 7:59pm. I was now notified that my flight is now departing at 8:58pm and landing at 11pm. After asking to file a report they refused to let me and now are ignoring my messages. I think its ridiculous that airlines can delay flights up to 4 hours and theres nothing that can be done about this.

      I purchased a round-trip ticket from *********** to ************* with a two week window. The flight home after realizing that I would be in ************* longer. I tried to utilize the option that I paid extra for to make changes to my flight home. Now After being on the phone with them twice for over an hour and 45 minutes the airline is telling me that they would only credit me $97 on a $650 round-trip Ticket. I am truly concerned why the feds would allow them to charge you for the option and then rip you off in the end.

      United has been the worst airlines that we flew over the last few years. Employees are beyond nasty to the customers. I will avoid flying ****************** going forward even if I have to spend more money on different companies. Our flight was canceled claiming that it was due to weather at 1:10PM out of **************. There was no rain no thunder, nothing till 7:30PM. Other flights were taking off at that time no issues. The attendants at the gate desk who were supposed to be helping customers, all of a sudden said End of shift, going home and no other coverage coming, you can go try to call United customer service or use the app to reschedule your flight. Booked a different airlines out of another airport for that night after being told yes you can go downstairs and get your luggage so spend another $1300. When we went to baggage claim we were told 2 to 4 hours to get your bags, we said fine. Then told 6 to 12 hours and then told 2 to 3 days. At that point there was no point trying to make our trip. **** arrived home 2 days later at 2:40 AM. I wish there was less than 1 star. I lost 1300 dollars in alternative airlines, my husband an I both lost a week of time off from work. No apology and no compensation.

      They will leave your minors stranded and make excuses on why they cant help them. You will sit on the phone for hours with incompetent people apologizing for the inconvenience instead of actually helping you, NEVER trust United!

      I traveled business class from ********* to *******, **************, flight UA83 on 07/04/2024. Overall service was poor. No one came to ask if we would need anything until the dinner time. They started serving dinner without even asking if we would like to eat now or later. The staff got into an argument with a passenger sitting next to me when she expressed her dissatisfaction about the poor service and rude attitude of the crew. The dinner had a peculiar smell to it as if it was stale because of inappropriate storage/handling. No one came to as if we would need any midnight snack. Also, in the morning I waited for a while if someone could come and ask if we would need tea. Finally, I walked to the staff and asked for a cup of tea. When I asked for an extra tea bag, the learned staff argued that if I dip longer, one tea bag would be sufficient. This is my worst business class flying experience and I would not fly united unless absolutely there is no other choice.

      We just returned from a 2 week trip to *****. Our son's wedding was in *****. Our travel with United Airlines was an awful experience. We had a connecting flight on the trip to ***** and on the trip back to the ***. All four of our flights were delayed and it was not due to bad weather. If that wasn't enough, our luggage didn't arrive in ********. My dress, shoes and scarf that I brought to wear at our son's wedding were in my checked luggage. We did get our suitcases back within 24 hrs. Relief! On the trip home, we flew United from ****** to ******. Neither my husband's nor my daughter's suitcase arrived in ******. We were to collect our bags in ******, go through customs and then recheck our bags for the final flight to *******. We have been home for one week and my husband and daughter still do not have their luggage! My husband has been in contact with United Airlines daily. A few days ago, United told him that the suitcases were located in ************ and were with American Airlines. But, as of this writing, he has not been told by United that United Airlines has the bags! To say that I am upset with United Airlines is putting it mildly. In the future, I will avoid connecting flights at all costs. I may choose to fly with another airline. And, we will bring more items in our carry-on bags. My husband, who only brought a Tumi backpack on the plane, plans to purchase a carry-on size suitcase and bring both that and his backpack. We have spoken to many travelers who told us that they will not check luggage. In fact, one man we met at our hotel in ********, who was traveling with his family in ***** for ONE MONTH, told us that he will not check luggage and buys clothing when he gets to *****! What is going wrong with service on airlines? Traveling is supposed to be pleasurable. Customers spend a good deal of money to travel. It was my first time traveling out of the United States and my experience with United Airlines was not pleasurable!

      United sold me a ticket SAN-ORD/ORD-MDT. During the first leg, they didn't have enough fuel in their plane to circle ORD when there was weather so we had to divert to STL. Knowing I would miss the original 2nd leg of the flight, I tried unsuccessfully to get a seat on the only later flight United had from ORD-MDT but was told to see a gate agent at *** to make the switch. I could see that there were fewer than 5 seats on that flight and knew there were many late flights into ORD due to weather and I wasn't even sure I'd have time to see a gate agent at *** as our diverted flight was getting in hours late. A customer service rep I chatted with said I would be refunded if I booked a second leg from ORD-MDT ala carte so I did that and paid $359 via paypal. I chatted with a rep once I'd booked the seat and they assured me again that I would receive a refund. But instead of refunding me for the second leg I booked ala carte they refunded me only $200 from my original ticket (to my travel bank as if I will ever take United again, by choice). I WOULD HAVE BEEN STUCK IN ORD OVERNIGHT HAD I NOT TAKEN THE INITIATIVE TO BOOK THE *** CARTE FLIGHT AND UNITED GOT ME INTO MDT 5 HOURS LATE... and they way they apologized for the ridiculous delay was to cancel the wrong leg of my flight and overcharge me for this second flight by $160, despite promising that I wouldn't have to pay out of pocket for the second leg. I now have a worthless travel credit of $200 (the supposed cost of the second leg on my original reservation WHICH I NEVER ASKED THEM TO CANCEL) and I'm out $359 of paypal money for the flight they told me I would not be financially responsible for as I DID NOT TAKE THAT FLIGHT. I took the flight I originally booked except the second leg was hours later because they didn't have enough fuel on board, which was their fault, not mine. They were legally obligate to cover the cost of my later flight.

      I choose United Airline to fly into ********* to go on a cruise; and scheduled it 6am leaving *********** the day before giving us plenty of time to arrive. The original flight was canceled due to technical difficulties; and put on a 7:30 To *******. Weather delayed us further and we missed our connecting flight from ******* to *********. This set us back another six hours; there were no United flights that day but the next at 1:30. I saved my mileage points all year to go on this trip through them. They put us on another airline to get there arriving at 12:00 am. I have reached out to them several times to give me a refund for the long delay time and told me to go to their customer care site to dispute. I filled everything out with evidence of the trip and heard nothing back from them. I went there twice and nothing. I am disappointed that they did not reach back to me and honor our time with a 12-hour delay overall. We were scheduled to arrive in ********* at 12:30 pm. and didn't arrive to our destination until after midnight; missing plans we were to do that day. I just wanted my hard-earned points back for the stress and inconvenience. I appreciated they were able to find a last flight out that day; but heard if you had a long layover delay you could get a refund on your ticket.*************************** *********** *****

      This is my worst experience with United Airlines even before I flew with them and will never fly with that airlines.-------------------------------------United Airlines ************* Replied This ticket was purchased March 23,2021, tickets are valid for one year from the date of purchase.However, due to the Covid pandemic, United extended the validity date of all tickets originally until December 31, 2021. After serval other extensions, United management decided to ***** a final extension.The final extension date was December 31,2023.In order to ensure fairness to all customers, I am unable to ***** your request for an additional extension.We thank you for your continued loyalty, as a valued MileagePlus member.----------------------------------------------------------------They never notified about final extension of rewards certificate and they simply choose not to renew rewards certificate United Airlines pocketed my US$ ***** which proves the fact that United Airlines have the worst customer care team.Help with how to file a legal case to United Airlines should help get my money back.------------------------------------------------------------

      Terrible experience with United Airlines going from *********** to ******, ********** last week. On the flight there we were delayed by just over 3 hours and had to deplane at 2am! On the way back home was even worse. We were 6 hours delayed!!! With the fear of not getting a flight at all that day. These delays caused us stress, and lots of money. We missed a lot of activities with the 3 hour delay and I had to hire my care taker for an extra NIGHT and added 6 hours of parking fees and all they gave us was $30 dollar voucher that would barely get us a burger and fries on the airport. A few mentioned that we would get refunded due to a new law passed for domestic flights being delayed over 3 hours but no airline employees mentioned this or offered other alternatives or compensation when really they should have.
