I purchased full coverage auto insurance for my vehicle through insure on the spot which turned out to actually be Direct Auto. I had an accident on November 14th and needed roadside assistance. The accident was bad enough that my car door wouldn't close. No one was hurt and the other driver was able to leave after exchanging info. I on the other hand could not because my car door would not close. I called the police but they wouldn't come because no one was hurt and was told that I needed to go to the nearest police station to report the incident. I called Roside Assistance and was told that they would not come get me unless I provided a police report number. I kept explaining to him that I couldn't get to the police station and no police were coming because no one was hurt. Thankfully I was in an area that had a lot of auto shops. I drove my car, holding on to the door to the nearest shop. I continued to call the police for help but they never came. I had no choice but to leave my car there. By now I've been trying to get help from the police and my insurance company for about 2 hours, know one came. I left my car with the mechanic and took the bus home. I went to the police station and reported the accident and called in the claim. They told me to call the other person insurance 1st and if they denied claim then call back. Of course the other insurance company denied the claim and ; is that my battle to fight since I pay for full coverage. After the claim being denied by the other person insurance company I called mine, Direct Auto. I put in the claim and provided the information requested, called several times to keep up with the progress of the claim to be told 30 days later that they were only paying $1018 of a $2600 claim. Reasons:1st I didn't take it to they're authorized shop. I couldn't, roadside assistance wouldn't come and get me 2nd they only pay $30 hr labor rate. They gave me nothing for a full coverage policy which is still in force. Help

      Complaint: 21027345

I am rejecting this response because:

Insure on the spot wants to keep directing all complaints to direct auto but keeps collecting the monthly payment.  Also the insurance info that you keep in your car is Insure on the Spot not Direct Auto.  The emergency call info is provided by Insure on the Spot so when we have an accident issue with claims I should be able to call Insure on the Spot since you are collecting my monthly payments.  Secondly I never received any of the letters that Direct Auto posted to the complaint, nor did the repair shop.  They just sent an appraiser whom determine what they deemed needed to be fixed and that was that.  Looking now at the repair quote provided by Direct Auto they clearly didn't inspect the car correctly.  No mentioned of the hinges that needed to be replace or the inside panel which was smashed in as well.  Direct Auto only wants to pay $1018 of a $2600 bill  of which $500 is my deductible .  So they are really only paying $518 on repair shop quote.  Most importantly is that I wouldn't be filing this complaint had roadside assistant provided me help when I called from the accident site.  The dispatcher would not send help unless I had a police report, the police did not come after waiting for over an hour.  The car was not drive able enough to make it all the way across town to my house and if I left it on the street it would have been vandalized.   I should not be penalized for the complete rudeness and arrogance of your dispatcher.  Basically he left me on the side of the road so I drove the car to the nearest auto shop and took the bus home.  I filed the police report the next morning.  It still frighten me to this day to think that if I was on the expressway or some remote site I would have been left helpless by the insurance company that I once had faith in.  I will be singing it to anyone that I can about this deceptive company practices.  Now I am left with a $1600 bill, totally unacceptable.

      Sincerely,

      ******* Christmas

I am rejecting this response because:  I get my statement for insurance payments from Insure on the Spot.  They should be the one who addresses this issue with Direct Auto since insure on the spot brokered me out to them.  And I just received my statement for payment to insure on the spot.  This is completely unfair business practice.

      Sincerely,

First of all I found out they do not insure you as my insurance card says they are actually a middle man or broker and they never answer the phone unless you say new customer or make a payment. Then they out source roadside assistance to private companies. Friday I needed a tow and waited 4 hrs on a tow man to come to the pound where my car was and he didnt have a proper registration to his truck so he was unable to tow my car. Today I have literally called roadside assistance at least 10 times they have terrible phone service so they can barely hear you and everyone has a heavy accent so they cant understand everything I am saying. I finally get someone on the phone who tells me they only cover $40 so I will have to pay $130 I ask for another company because last time it was $50 out of pocket she finds someone for $100 when I noticed it was the same company from before that I waited 3/4 hrs on that came without a valid registration. Then called me back to say $130 I asked to find a cheaper one its my first time using road side assistance thats ridiculous now they just called and said $200 when I asked if he could find me something cheaper he tried to tell me thats the only people who can tow my car I told him no its not Ive had 4 cheaper quotes already then now he says he will try to find somebody cheaper they are all rude and do not care about me getting my car towed. This has been the worst customer service I have ever experienced I just want a decent rate considering I pay $300 a month for insurance and roadside assistance.
