      It all started 11/14/2023 First they put the wrong battery in my vehicle. I drove on it for 5 months until another mechanic informed me that it was the wrong battery for my vehicle. I took it back while it was still under warranty and he tried to make me pay the difference even though the mistake was on their end, not to mention it was still under a 2 year warranty. A week later after getting the new battery my vehicle wouldnt start and found out that it was the starter and that with it being the wrong battery it destroyed my starter. Got it towed to them where they had it for about 5 to 6 hours after saying it was very difficult and soon after that saying that they couldnt fix it so I had to get it towed to another mechanic to get it fixed. A couple of days after that it stopped again and the roadside assistance person informed me that my battery wasnt put in properly. And from them putting the wrong battery those times had loosened up the holders for the battery. All in all I had been through 3 batteries, 2 tows, had to buy and pay for labor to get a new starter put in plus a new cord for battery. I didnt receive any discounts on anything nor courtesys of any kind seeing it was the mechanic/shops fault. Not to mention the inconvenience it caused me.. along with the decrease in hospitality. The cost of everything I had to get fixed plus the tows etc. was over $1,000 and thats not even including me having to miss work and the anxiety and stress this has all caused.

      IN RESPONSE TO THIS COMPLAINT, IT IS SUBMITTED THAT:

      MY NAME IS ****** SHARAFI I AM MANAGING CHICAGO AUTOS BUSINESS SINCE LAST 35 YEARS. ON 11/14/2023 AS THE CUSTOMER CLAIMS THAT SHE BROUGHT HER VEHICLE TO GET THE BATTERY REPLACED (AS HER BATTERY WAS NOT OPERATIVE). CHICAGO AUTO REPAIR DOES NOT SALE BATTERIES, INSTEAD EITHER WE BUY THE BATTERY FROM OUR NEXT DOOR NEIGHBOR "NINVEH AUTO PARTS" OR NEXT TO IT THE AUTOZONE . WHEN THE CUSTOMER CAME TO ** WE EXPLAINED TO HE THE DIFFERENCE IN THE ***** FROM BOTH THE ****** AS NINVEH AUTO PART ***** WAS A LITTLE CHEAPER THE CUSTOMER PREFERRED TO BUY THE BATTERY FROM THEM. THIS BATTERY WAS WARRANTEED FOR 18 (EEIGHTEEN) *****S ONLY AND WAS PERFECTLY FIT FOR HER *** AS CONFIRMED AND ASSURED BY THE MANAGER OF NINVEH AUTO REPAIR. WE PAID THE ***** ONLY (NO TAX) BROUGHT THE BATTERY TO MY **** INSTALLED IT IN THE VEHICLE (NO LABOR WAS GIVEN TO CHICAGO AUTO REPAIR AS THE CUSTOMER HAS SOME PROBLEM TO GET MORE FUNDS TOWARDS THE SITUATION) ANY WAYS THE *** WENT OUT OF OUR PREMISES AND WAS RUNING VERY SMOOTHLY. THAN IN THE ***** OF APRIL 2024 ( I DO NOT REMEMBER THE EXACT DATE) CUSTOMER CAME TO OUR **** AND SAID THAT ONE ANOTHER MECHANIC IS SAYING THAT THIS BATTERY DOES NOT BELONGS TO HER VEHICLE (MIND IT THIS BATTERY MADE HER VEHICLE MOVE ALONG FOR MORE THAN FIVE *****S AS SMOOTH AS ANYTHING). WE TOOK THE BATTERY TO THE MANAGER NINVEH AUTO PARTS AND EXPLAINED THE SITUATION TO HIM, HE SAID, "BRING THE BATTERY BACK TO HIM AND HE WILL REPLACE THE BATTERY AS THIS BATTERY IS UNDER WARANTY MOREOVER HE EXLAIN TO BOTH OF US THAT THE BATTERY HE IS GIVING US IS PERFECTLY FITS TO HER ***, NEITHER I PAID ANYTHING EXTRA NOR THE CUSTOMER PAID ANY EXTRA MONEY FOR THIS WARANTY. WE BROUGHT THE BATTERY BACK TO MY ****, WE INSTALLED THE BATTER ONE MORE TIME WITHOUT ANY LABOR, CUSTOMER LEFT THE **** WITHOUT ANY PROBLEM AND HUSSLE. IN MY THIRTYFIVE YEARS EXPERIENCE, THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME THAT I RECEIVED A COMPLAINT LIKE THAT AS IN MY EXPERIENCE DURING THIS THIRTYFIVE YEARS EXPERIENCE AS AUTOMOBILE MECHANIC WHAT I LEARNED THAT BATTERY IS THE WEEKEST (FEMALE) PART IN ANY VEHICLE AND CAN NOT DAMAGE ANY STARTER OR ALTERNATOR. AF5TER SOME DAYS CUSTOMER TOWED HER *** TO OUR **** TO REPLACE THE STARTER, BUT DUE TO HER  ATTITUDE MY BOTH THE MECHANIC REFUSED TO WORK ON HER ***. AND SHE TOWED BACK HER ***, WE DO NOT KNOW WHERE. AS A RESULT FOR A SETTLEMENT SHE DEMAND REFUND, WE AGREE IF SHE BRINGS US BACK THE BATTERY WE INSTALLED, WE WILL RETURN HER MONEY WHAT SHE USED TO BUY THE BATTERY.

      I bought a *** based on the buisness owner ( **************** )advise saying it was easy fix. 1 month later I had many engine problems and was advised again by **************** to change the engine. I travelled to ***** ,rented SUV and drove 22 hours back to Chicago with the new engine .A novice mechanic was assigned to my car and he experimented on my car and messed it up big time .Once **************** told me they need the original computer for the new engine because the car would not start ,another time he told me the car started and died out .3 weeks later he told me to take the engine back to ***** because it was bad engine .I refused and agreed with a mechanic next door to fix the car .Whilst pushing the car to his neighbour's shop I noticed damage on the car's under side on both skirts and when I asked him about it he said "what has happened happened " and later on he denied the damage was done in his shop ( despite the fact that one of his mechanics told me the damage was the shop's fault )He dumbed all the car wirings, bolts ,screws and hoses in the trunk .The car under hood side mouldings and the underside mud guard were all missing upon pushing the car to the other shop .When the other auto shop lifted the car on the hydraulic **** they found 4 of the transmission housing screws were missing and they also told me the damage was from putting the ****s in the wrong place in ******************* shop .**************** was summoned and showed the missing screws to which he agreed to pay for them once they were ordered from the dealership ( which he refused to pay later on ) .This shop fixed the car and got it running in 4 hours and I was charged $ 795 but there was a sound from the transmission. I took the car later to 3 different auto shops for diagnosis and was charged for the service .They all agreed that the transmission has to be brought down for inspection. The car was towed ( I paid towing fees ) to ******* auto repair where they found ******************* novice mechanic misaligned the torque converter and failed to i stall all the flywheel screws resulting in transmission uneven rotation. They also found oil leak due to a crack in the oil pan probably caused by land the engine heavily on the ground during replacement.A new oil pan was replaced and the transmission was fixed and was charged a further $800 plus an extra $200 for the transmission and engine oil .All along **************** was in denial and refused to own up and pay and damages .

      IN RESPONSE TO THE COMPLAINT :

      1. CUSTOMER BROUGHT THE *** TO THE **** WITH AN USED ENGINE TO REPLACE

      (WHEN THE PARTS ARE SUPPLIED BY THE CUSTOMERS, SPECIALLY USED THERE IS "NO WARRANTY" PROVIDED BY THE ****)

      AN AGREEMENT WAS TAKEN PLACE BETWEEN **** AND THE CUSTOMER (R&R USED ENGINE) FOR A TOTAL AMOUNT OF $800.00 WITH NO WARRANTY. THE CUSTOMER LEFT THE ***, USED ENGINE AND AN ADVANCE OF $500.00 BY CREDIT ***D WITH A PROMISE THAT THE REST OF $300.00 WILL BE PAID CASH AT THE **** OF RECEIVING THE VEHICLE BACK. WE CHANGED THE ENGINE (SUPPLIED BY THE CUSTOMER).

      CUSTOMER DISAPPEARED FOR SEVERAL WEEKS AND LATER ON WHEN ASKED TO COME AND TAKE HIS ***, ON HIS COMING TO TAKE THE *** HE SAID HE WAS OUT OF TOWN. WE TOLD HIM THE *** IS NOT RUNNING AS WE ALREADY TOLD HIM ON THE FIRST STATE THAT WE WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PERFORMANCE OF HIS USED ENGINE. ANYWAYS HE REFUSED TO PAY US THE REST OF AGREEMENT MONEY WHICH IS $300.00 AND THE STORAGE CHARGES $110.00 PER DAY. 

      DURING THE WHOLE PROCESS THE CUSTOMER CALLED THE POLICE SEVERAL ****S FOR SO MANY DIFFERENT REASONS, EVERY **** POLICE TOLD HIM TO NOT TO BOTHER THE POLICE FOR THESE SMALL MATTERS. THEN FINALLY WHEN WE ASKED HIM TO COLLECT THE **** OF HIS ENGINE, HE AGAIN BROUGHT THE POLICE WITH HIM AT THAT **** POLICE VERY CLEARLY TOLD HIM THAT IF HE BOTHERS THE POLICE AGAIN, HE WILL BE ARRESTED.

      IN THE CONCLUSION WE WANT TO SAY THAT IF HE BRING US THE BALANCE OF $300.00 OF THE AGREEMENT AND A SUM OF $177,190.00 THE STORAGE CHARGES FOR HIS *** AFTER THE *** DONE AND FOR THE ENGINE **** AFTER THE *** WAS PULLED OUT FROM THE ****, WE WILL NOT CLAIM AGAINST HIM.

      I am rejecting this response because:

      **************** of Chicago Auto repair agreed to fix the engine of a BMW328I 2012. Relying on the expertise of the shop owner, an engine was brought from a third party. Upon providing the engine to Nadeem, he informed me that he could fix the issue. $500 was paid as a deposit. Since leaving the vehicle numerous follow *** occurred by myself and children. Eventually, the mechanic informed me that he was unable to fix the vehicle. Not only was he unable to fix the vehicle he caused additional damage. This included the vehicle not being able to start at all, both sides on the underside rocker panels, missing bolts, and failed diagnosis of gas shortage. The additional damage was caused by his negligence in attempting to fix the engine. Once the engine was correctly replaced, the car experienced more issues. Once taken to a third auto shop the shop informed me that due to the incorrect placement of the engine and missing bolts the transmission needed to be repaired. The issue explained at the third shop was confirmed prior to correctly fixing the engine at the second auto shop to **************** who stated he would replace the bolts. However, due to the attempted repair occurring prior to correctly fixing the engine there was no way to avoid having the transmission fixed. In total I visited three auto shops, one being **************** who caused the damage that required additional money to be spent. Due to Mr. ******* negligence the following monetary damages are being requested:
      Chicago auto repair Deposit: $500
      Avis Car rental: $114.92
      Gas Cost: $113.78
      One way Flight from *** to ***: $398
      (Brake 4 less) Second shop engine repair + Missing transmission housing screws: $490
      (Lincoln Auto repair) Third shop transmission repair due to negligent engine repair, ********** pan replacement, missing flywheel bolt: $802.10
      Engine Oil pan: $76.83
      Towing fees: $100
      Front right windshield panel $125.40
      Front left windshield panel $132.50
      Return for gas for reimbursement that did not amount to the requested amount: $40
      Engine splash shield $166.95
      Underside rocker panels repair cost $1949.10
      Total amount requested: $5,009.58

      Once the car was provided to another shop, they were able to fix the issues caused by ****************. They informed me the issues were due to an inexperienced mechanic. As a result, the transmission needed to be replaced. **************** informed the second shop that was next door that he would cover the missing bolts and damaged panel. Since informing myself and the new shop he has failed to do so. I have had to contact the police to receive the receipt that is attached to this complaint. In addition, I had to take the car to another shop to fix the damage to the transmission that **************** caused. Had **************** been upfront of his inability to fix the car, the various failed diagnoses of the issue, the car would have been off his property when my sons and I visited the shop. I intend to sue **************** if he does not agree to a reasonable refund.

      TO START WITH THIS COMPLAINT, I SUGGEST THAT THE CUSTOMER PAY US $1700.00 TO MAKE THE COMPLAINT RE-ALIVE.  FURTHERMORE, ONE OF HIS RESPONSE CUSTOMER WHILE EVEN REPLYING HE WAS ASKING US TO PAY  HIM THE *** F***, I DON'T RE, TO WHERE AND WHY?

      I took my ****** to this shop for a oil changed and after a oil change *************** called me and told me I need timing belt before I brought my car running so there is no way I need a timing belt his wife came on the phone start yelling to come and get my junk out her shop and demanding **** $ i called police then they release my car my car is now shaking smoking and not drivable I am in pain because I feel like I got scamp why can a business like this still open to scam women I am hurt I need justice

      August 24 Nadeem Sharafi, owner worked on my car ; I had problem with air conditioner , which is why i brought it in in the first place. they messed up a whole electronic system in my car and messed up electrical cables during the 1st repair. They made me to sign a **** for car repairs that were not done. $1,049.00 in two installments $849.00 and the 2nd installment of $200.00 when i drove it the car started shaking and i lost control of th e car after they repaired it. had a problem with the brakes to stop the car; had no control of the whole car. In September went back to owner to get repaired and he said he would pay $50 to junk my new car; wanted another $1400 to replace the engine. i said no. Became suspicious and towed the car to a 2nd mechanic where it was discovered on Oct 9th that Chicago Auto Repair had put in a used catalytic converter in my vehicle and this is against the federal law to use used parts.
