I purchased a Law Dictionary from underground Book store, Friday April 29, 2022, I checked the back of the book for the price but I didnt see one. I asked the owner named ***** how much was the Law Dictionary, he stated that it was $125.00. I proceeded to pay with a credit card, he said his credit card machine wasnt working. He said the total was $148.00. I only had $130.00 in cash but I got $20.00 from my daughter who was in the store with me. He didnt give a receipt but proceeded to write something in a ledger. When I arrived home in Alabama looked at the back of the Dictionary the price was $31.50. ***** called me about another book that came in in-tilled the Unknown Arabs. I couldnt figure out the taxes on this, I was charged $48.84 to my credit card and just noticed the name for the charge wasnt under Underground Book Store.Business response

First let me say that if a customer is purchasing from me , then my conducting business is between myself and that customer. Secondly if there is some issues that arise with the price or service than that customer should bring those issues to me and allow me to address their concerns while in my store before they purchase the product and go home especially if they are visiting from out of town, so that they don't wait until they get miles of distance between us and then have a problem with price or any other issue. Thirdly the price of my law dictionaries vary because they are all out of print book and so the price that pay for them from other businesses or individuals vary. So if you are told that the price of the dictionary was $125 with taxes this book would still not come up to $148. The only conceivable way that this book could have come to a total $148 is that has to be shipped. You yourself admitted that you looked on the back of the book and did not see a price so excuse me I'm a little confused at the your returning home and now there is a price at the back of the book. I can only say that if in fact there was another price of $31.50 that you saw it was not my price for retail to you. Fourthly when discovered this why did you not call my store to ask why was another price on the book. Lastly if you were already confused about price why would you purchase another book from someone you believe to have cheated you. point 1. My name is **** not Uriel Point 2. The Better Business Bureau are not my BOSS nor my mother or father so they can't make me give your money back or anything else. Point 3. In my almost thirty years in business this association{BBB} has never had one complaint on me or my business cheating, mistreating, beating or stealing anybody out of anything and there is a reason for that and that reason is because it just has never happen. So I suggested that if you unhappy with your purchase, you may return every thing that you purchased. {with one condition that the purchased items are in the same condition as they were when you purchased them. This the last communication to this person , and BBB do not forward anymore messages from this person. We made an offer for this person to return everything they purchased since they feel they were cheated to us ASAP for a full refund, if they refused to accept our offer than there is nothing more to communicate.With that said we now know who are the real liar and cheats are, so once again do not waste anymore of our time.
