My name is ************************* and I Purchased a ceiling fan from Fox Home Center, ************************************************************************************* on June 4, 2022. The total purchase price with taxes was $317.76. The extension rod that I ordered was not in stock at the time of purchase, but I was informed approximately a week later when it was in the store and ready for pickup. After obtaining all parts, I secured an electrician from **** a reputable company, to do the installation. That install cost a total of $259.00. After approximately a week, the fan began to make a grinding noise, so I called the electrician back to revisit the installation. The annoying sound continued and I requested that the fan be taken down so that I could return it because I believed that something could possibly be faulty with the fan. I called the store that I made the purchase from and I explained that I no longer had the box that the fan came in, but I had a receipt. They instructed me to bring it in. After I got to the store with the fan I was told that they could not accept a fan after it had been installed. My response was that first, I called prior to coming and was told to bring it in, and how does one determine that an item is faulty unless you attempt to use the item? I also told them that I was not seeking any money back, but instead, a credit so that I could make another purchase. I was then told that there was no manager on the premises, and that I should come back tomorrow. i asked how long before a manager would be there, and they said, "3:30". It was 2:45, so I decided to wait. At 4:00, I was called back to the counter and informed that they had made a decision to credit me my money. I said, "alright, I will pick out a different fan". The sales person told me that they did not want to sell me a fan. Please be informed that I am a 69 year old black female and a retired CPS certified guidance counselor that understands when discrimination has occurred. I did not deserve to be treated in this manner
