On Tuesday, April 23, 2024, I signed up for classes to the ABC Bartending School for $499.00 which was paid in full. I signed up for the *********** location. They called and wanted me to try the Belmont location telling me it was closer to my home in ************* *******. I went to the first class on May 6th which was suppose to start at 6:00 pm. I took me 2 1/2 hours to get there with the downtown traffic which is unacceptable. The instructor was an hour late without any email or text notification. I was very disappointed in the class material and instruction. I called on my way home and told them that the location they switched me to wasn't going to work for me. That Tinley was by far closer to my home. That class ended up being the same instructor whom was late again. I couldn't stay they were late because my family needed as a family member staying with is very ill. I requested a refund by phone and in writing on May 20, 2024, stating the following:I am not able to commit to two weeks of classes at this time. Since classes were delayed, given my current work schedule and unforeseen circumstances I am no longer able to safely commit to the program. This illness wasn't diagnosed until May and giving up needed hours for instructor to arrive late doesn't allow for my families safety.Business response

Hello
it was the student who was continuously late for class as he indicated it taking him over 2 hours to get to the location he signed up for. We were able to accommodate him and move the location. He was a no show at his scheduled class time. We have a strict no refund policy as he now has taken up 2 class sits at 2 separate locations. Refund policy is written on the bottom of the receipt given to student. There has been no further communication and we will not honor a refund. He will be able to pick a new class date if necessary.

Complaint Summary I am filing a complaint against *** Bartending due to issues with the course, including the instructors punctuality, a canceled class, and the school's refusal to resolve these problems or provide a refund.Complaint Details 1. Instructors Punctuality - Since May 20, 2024, the instructor has consistently been late for classes (1-2 hours), reducing instructional time and learning quality.2. Canceled Class - On May 22, the instructor canceled a class without notification or plans to make up the time, further reducing the courses value.3. Failure to Resolve Issues - Despite multiple communications, the school has refused to address my concerns, make up missed time, or provide a refund. My last attempt to resolve this was on May 23, ******. Violation Notice - On May 20, 2024, a violation notice was posted on the schools door, raising concerns about compliance and disrupting the learning environment.5. Transaction Details - Date of Transaction: May 18, 2024 - Amount Paid: $424 - Commitment from Business: 32 hours of instruction. This has not been met.Desired Resolution:I am requesting a full refund of the $424 tuition paid for the course. The instructors lateness, class cancellation, and refusal to address issues have impacted my learning experience.I am disappointed with the instruction quality and lack of administrative support. On 11/24/2021, I was pressured by Director ************************* into making a quick decision by being told that classes were filling up quickly, and I was able to pay a Black Friday Deal of $349 for the class and the certifications. I provided my credit card number over the phone and scheduled a night class (****pm). Prior to my making payment, I was not told that my payment would be non-refundable. I also did not sign any contracts or agreements prior to making payment.On January 10th, 2022, I arrived early to my 6pm orientation. The location was run-down and freezing: a 15 degree day and no heat in the classroom. I was instructed to sit in a corner and read from the textbook. Nobody else showed up in spite of being told the class was almost fully booked. It was not a pleasant experience, even though the website advertised engaging classes filled with satisfied pupils.For the next two weeks, I made every attempt to accommodate my instructor and schedule time to come into class. She asked me multiple times to come in for the early slot, when I had explicitly signed up for a 6pm class and told all staff I wasn't available before then. Every time we settled on an evening for me to come in, she would cancel on me with very little notice. I asked if she was available on the weekends, and I got no response.When I reached out to request a refund, I was informed that the company does not issue refunds, and that the website indicates this. The website does not indicate this (https://www.abcbartending.com/index.php). When I requested that ************************* (or another member of management) call me back about this, I was not contacted back.I followed up with an email to the company through the BBB website. I was enrolled in the June bartending class in ********* **. The school texted stating that theyll have to push my start date back a week because their new *********** location needed to pass the inspection. I informed ***** that I wasnt able to attend and requested a refund. She ensured me that she made a note in the system and I should receive a refund in a few days. I have yet to receive. I followed up two weeks ago and was promised I would have my refund on Friday September 24,2021. Still havent received a refund. I have been calling all day and no one answers my calls.
