In May 2024, BBB investigated Chicago Snowstorm Cattery's business practices. This investigation was prompted by a scam tracker inquiry regarding a consumer making arrangements with the pet selling business, but after realizing the business asked for more payments in the form of store cards, the consumer became weary about purchasing a kitten from the website.
"I sent the payment through Zelle to [email protected]. They then informed me that for the 2nd portion of the payment I was to purchase a gift card and send them a screenshot of the card and the receipt. At this point I unfortunately knew it was a scam and told them I changed my mind and asked for a refund of my $400. I was told several times through Messenger that I would be paid back. After a week of going back and forth I was blocked from messaging them."
The business does not have any address, they are not registered with the American Kennel Club or with the states pet registry. The business does not have an SOS report.
