The above mentioned complaint is based off of Scott Credit Union illegally freezing a joint account that should not have been frozen. I (*******************************) informed Scott Credit Union that my Mother (****************************** ********) had passed away after informing the credit union i asked for a cashiers check for the ammount of her social security check and the remaining balance from the account in cash. Upon asking for the balance of the accounts i was informed of a credit card balance that i was not responsible for and they requested the certified death certificate. The death certificate was not available at that time and they froze the account without verification of the death of my mother and told me the account was frozen by the social security board. The social security board verified that they was not responsible for freezing the account but would collect the money back once the certified death certificate was available. I have called the collection department 3 times and they refuse to allow me to talk with a supervisor nor do the have a death certificate on file.
