On 7/6/23, I was scheduled to get a teeth cleaning at Peterson Smiles Forever. ****** and *************************** suggested a filling on a molar, a wisdom teeth extraction. He seems desperate for money because he also tried to convince me to get braces. I did not need to reschedule, he was willing to do everything at the same visit during this lunch. This should have been a red flag. I did not know ****** was just an assistant when she cleaned my teeth. I asked if she was a dental hygienist when the cleaning was done because it was one of the worst cleaning I have ever experienced. She said she was just an assistant, she was not a hygienist nor a dentist. It is illegal for an assistant to perform teeth cleaning. Cleaning teeth using tools in a dental office requires a higher level of training. After the cleaning, ****************** damaged my lingual nerve during his attempt to remove my wisdom teeth. Theses are the symptoms that I encountered: swollen cheeks, bruise from cheek to neck, no sensation on left side of the tongue, pain when swallowing, speech difficulties, difficulty eating, constant tongue biting, tingling, needle pricking, can not taste on effected side of the tongue.I came in for a follow up multiple times and ****************** was unable to diagnose the problem. I had to do my own research and was seen by 2 oral surgeon who indeed said my lingual nerve is damaged. This complaint to BBB is to kindly ask for someone to investigate this office, give a fine or suspend Dr. ******** license. This doctor is unprofessional, he caused nerve injury and hired unqualified assistant to do his job. He had ****** clean my teeth and remove my extraction stitches. He also had his other assistant *************************** to file/grind down the top of my filing that he did incorrectly. If theres anything that you will need from me to support this complaint, feel free to reach out to me, I have notes from my oral surgeon, and had an MRI scan showing the damaged of lingual nerve.
