In December of 2020 while my wife was suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum, we were told by a healthcare professional that she should receive an IV due to vomiting subsequent dehydration. Since it was during a pandemic, we were instructed to try and avoid the ** but it was after hours and nothing was open.A quick ****** search led me to Chicago Express Doctors who come to your house for procedures like this.The man on the phone told me, "All you need to do is provide your healthcare insurance a Superbill and they will reimburse you. We do it all the time and it's super easy."Well, I never received the Superbill. It took multiple phone calls to receive it. Once I did receive it, it was mostly handwritten and half of the information my insurance company needed was missing. More calls back and forth.I have sent this Superbill to my provider 3 times now. All of the codes are wrong so they are denying reimbursement. United Healthcare sent them a fax detailing everything that needed to be fixed to process the reimbursement. I called and talked to a guy who said "Everybody is out of the office right now that can help you with these questions - I will forward it along." I have received this line at least 3 times now. Never get a response back.I have called and email numerous times trying to get them to work with my insurance company and correct their mistakes. No replies and no calls back. Terrible service and I am out ~$700 on something that should have been taken care of over a year ago.Business response

Please email the insurance letter or fax it to ************ along with your superbill. We will look into the issue and do our best to try to resolve it in a timely manner with your insurance company.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:United Healthcare already sent you everything they need. It was faxed to your office near the end of December. I spoke to a man at your office and he said it was received and someone from the accounting department would handle it. I don't have that information as it is something United Healthcare needed you to provide.
As mentioned in this complaint, I have been emailing and calling since the end of December with no responses back.

They provided me with the following info:
They said that there were 2 problems with the Superbill provided:
J Codes need NDC numbers
The Codes for Office Visit and Infusion have inappropriate coding combinations
United Healthcare Claim # CX68785576.

On 11/21/2021 I reached out to Chicago Express Doctors to inquire about their service. During my conversation with ************** he informed me the cost of service would be $750, which I agreed to. However, after checking my account balance I noticed Chicago Express Doctors charged me $1,430 which was $680 more than what was disclosed and agreed upon with me. Chicago Express Doctors website states their fee is $360 plus the cost of travel. Which I thought $750 made sense once it was quoted. However, Chicago Express Doctors website does include a list of fees or additional charges other than what I have listed above https://chicagoexpressdoctors.com/faqs/. When I spoke to ************** regarding the incorrect charge he was very rude and claimed I did not listen during our phone call he also stated he would provide an invoice, which until today, November 23, 2021, I have not received or have seen. I have attempted to contact ************** from Chicago Express Doctors multiple times to no avail. I explained to ************** if I would have been quoted $1,430 initially I would have found another option for my 92 year old grandmother. I also told ************** that he only quoted me the $750 during our phone call on Sunday November 21, 2021 at 11:35am.I have submitted a formal complaint with the Illinois Attorney General and will also file a Regulation E compliant with my financial institution, but also wanted to make the BBB to be made aware of this situation. If this person/business did this to me I can only imagine how many others he has also done this to. We reached out to his business to get care for our 92 year old grandmother, but he ending up taking advantage of us and charging us an amount we did not agree to. We are appalled that a medical professional would run such a bait and switch scam of quoting one price, not providing an invoice upfront but then charging another price.
