Monday, 5/2 - dropped off $348 wool coat for dry cleaning, label read "dry clean" care; requested coat to be ready for pick-up in 2 days because moving out of state on 5/5; coat had been gently worn a total of 3 times and in perfect condition Wednesday, 5/4 - picked up item and brought home; later inspected coat only to find that a dime-sized patch on front right corner of coat was damaged, appearing frayed. The item also had other customers' hair attached in various spots to the coat. Called establishment and spoke with owner, who requested I bring item back in for inspection; she looked at it and said that it's "not possible" that this occurred from dry cleaning, which is untrue as it was NOT damaged when dropped off. Requested refund of $22.95 (cost of service) which was given in cash, but filing complaint because this was an incredibly expensive item of clothing, barely worn. Seeking additional compensation for the expense of the item as I am now out of state and will need to purchase a new coat.NOTE: Another customer in line in front of me confronted owner for destroying her $1,600 love seat cushion covers, as well.
