On January 20, 2024 I booked a consultation ($100 fee) for my daughters prom and paid a deposit of $900. On April 13th, she had another fitting and she was paid the remaining balance of $900. She gave us a pick up date of May 11,2024. Our pick up date was canceled the night before and we were ignored for days at a time. She finally gave us a date for May 23rd and then stop answering the phone. My daughters prom was May 24th. She called us the morning of to pick up the dress and had us waiting outside for an hour while she finished the dress. When we got home we discovered the dress was missing pieces, had visible glue on it and a host of other issues. Once my daughter made it to prom her dress began to fall apart. Once my daughter reached out to her she stated its not her fault that teenagers dont know how to wear wedding gowns. She should no remorse or offered no compensation for the stress she caused or the fact that she was given a flawed dress.Initial Complaint

On September 1, 2023 I made an appointment for October 7, 2023 Prom Consultation for my daughter. Paid the initial fee to see her which will towards my balance. Met the designer/dressmaker in a office rental place in downtown *******. We were escorted by security to the elevator to go to the 17th floor. Her brother escorted us to an waiting area. We met with Binta and my daughter started to explain the style, color, and other details she would like on her dress. The next appointment on January 13th was rescheduled to January 20th for her first fitting and additional deposit was paid towards are balance. No issue no problem. Next appointment April 20 for the last fitting and touches to the dress before she closed it. which was moved to April 27, paid, and fitted the dress with her shoes. May 11th was supposed to be the pick-up my daughter dress and final fitting. She has rescheduled and canceled the final fitting appointment and there has been no communication with her since then.Initial Complaint

I paid $2100 for a wedding dress for my daughter! My daughter made an appointment for 5/4/2024 to come pick the dress up! Binta Sagale confirmed the appointment on 5/2/24! My daughter flew to ******* and asked could she see her before 3, Binta said no and she needed more time. So we bought another flight for later that night! Binta text her the address for the 3pm appointment! My daughter got there at 230pm waited an hour and still no Binta! A 4pm appointment showed up and she took them back! So how you say you have no time when you booked appointments an hour apart! My daughter stayed in the lobby for 3 hours! Binta stopped answering her calls and texts! She blocked me! She has my money and dress! We leave this weekend! The wedding is out the country! My daughter and I are stressed out because she doesnt have a wedding dress! Wedding shops are telling us they cant get us a dress in time. Binta then tell my daughter she would overnight it on Tuesday 5/7/24! So we try to reach her on 5/8/24 she has turned her phone off so she has blocked my daughter number! She has really ruined my daughters wedding! She is unprofessional and talk crazy with you! Then says no refund!!! She didnt send the dress and wont give me my money back! She cant use the excuse of her being robbed again!Initial Complaint

This dress maker is scamming people out of their money causing unbearable stress for this prom season. There are over 20 girls that she has taken deposits and payments from 5 months ago and on the date of prom or the day prior she cancels the client and talks nasty an unbothered when the clients are simply trying to gain understanding. She also would not allow paid clients to atleast retrieve their fabric to then get another seamstress to make the dresses. She is highly unprofessional and disappointing. She needs to be shut down immediately!! Thank youBusiness response

Greetings!
Thank you for reaching out and giving me the opportunity to respond to this claim. I am Binta, a dressmaker with years of experience under my belt. Unfortunately, this year has been a tough one for my business. I have always taken my business seriously and have provided over 80 people with dresses for prom every year. This year, I went above and beyond by sending over 100 people to prom before Friday the 19th. On May 19th, my shop was robbed, and I was assaulted. While I was in the hospital, more people came to my shop to steal dresses, even some that were finished, unfinished, or didn't belong to them. I filed a police report about this incident. I had planned to finish the remaining dresses for the 26th and 27th of May, but unfortunately, on Sunday the 21st, my shop was broken into again by two men wearing masks and gloves, accompanied by two females. One of the women who appeared in the surveillance video resembled ***********************, the person who filed the complaint against my business. I gave many people their money back, including ***********************, but she is still complaining and trying to ruin my business by speaking out on TV. I want to make it clear that I did not drop the ball. I was robbed and assaulted. Since then, I have only been back to the shop twice, escorted by the police. I am frightened to go back to my shop as I am traumatized by the events that have happened. I understand that my clients are upset about losing their dresses, but they need to recognize that I have lost more. I have lost my business, money, and many loyal clients. At this moment, I do not think I will continue to do business in ******* because I fear for my safety. Making people happy is why I started this business, and it pains me that this has happened.

the first pictures Is the police report for the Assault, and Robbery.
the 2nd picture is the police report against the people that went there and stole dresses while I was at the hospital.
the 3rd picture is my protection order against *********************** for stalking me.
the 4th picture is believed to be ****** on Sunday with weapon on her arm later seen hiding it under her jacket.
the 5th picture is the two masks man that went their with ****** and her friend to break in my shop.
I wanted to submit more people of how my shop looks after the robbery, but the app is not allowing me.
I also tried when I saw the email, but its not open today. I will call you guys on Monday, and if I have to go to the office on Monday I will.
