A man showed up on my patio right underneath my window, without calling the house phone, and without ringing the doorbell or knocking. I actually do not consent to anyone entering the private property outside or inside, but I am stating that he did not give any information. I had to shut and lock the window immediately since I did not know who he was. Within a few minutes I heard that men were on the roof of the house, right above where I was standing. I immediately had to leave the room because I felt that they were potentially trespassing per ******** laws. I was told by another person that left the house, that someone from McKinley had left some type of flier that had not even been sent through the ************* *************** First of all, according to 720 ILCS 5/**** from Ch. 38, par. ****, (3.5) Sec. ****. Criminal trespass to real property. (a) A person commits criminal trespass to real property when he or she: presents false documents or falsely represents his or her identity orally to the owner or occupant of a building or land in order to obtain permission from the owner or occupant to enter or remain in the building or on the land; I will not have strange men on the property without identification cards that can be traced by an ******** ****************** The basis of this lies in law as defined that the person entering the property is not a resident of that property, and cannot prove that he/she has any legal claim to the property or land. Lying by omission is also a crime. If someone does not present any identification when attempting to conduct a tangible business that sells goods in ********, that is also an attempt at subverting the law by omission. Not only did the individual not state his name, I called McKinley Roofing to ask for his name and they would not give it to me. It took some research to find out that McKinley Roofing is associated only by internet link with McKinley Restoration Co.

We apologize for any miscommunication. As we mentioned in the last message that we have a valid contract with the current owner who is living at the property with his family. The property in question is located at 900 *************
      **************, **
We are representing homeowner with his insurance claim with the damages related to his roof. We are always keeping our customers in the loop, fully informing them of any upcoming inspections, however we were not instructed to inform his closest family hoping the homeowner would instruct everyone in the household. Again we apologize for any miscommunication.

Due to privacy issues we will not be attaching a copy of the contract mentioned unless requested so from a representative of the BBB, along with the permission of our client.

Was promised by the owner ***** $500 per referral that I provided. I provided 3 referrals, he paid me for 2 but refuses to pay on the remaining referral. If not paid I'll have to go through the hassle of taking McKinley Restoration Co. to small claims court.

We resolved the problem with the client.

McKinley Restoration's project manager ***************************** came out to our building to investigate our roof after a rough blizzard and snow/ice accumulating on our decks and roof. They found an area where water was pooling, the gutter was higher than the roof field, resealing needed around vents and pipes, patching needed on various parts of the roof, deterioration on the roof, small opening at the edge of the roof and chimney tuckpointing that needed to be fixed. The company also recommended double heating wires around the gutter, down spouts, and four to five feet on top of the roof to prevent ice buildup. We were quoted two prices: one for $180K to replace the entire roof and then $26,500 to handle immediate repairs that should keep our roof in tact (with a 10-year warranty). Our condo board agreed with the latter. All other work appears to have been done correctly. However, the roofers who came out put all of these heating cables along our entire roof without checking to make sure that they actually work. Although Radek insists that the heating cables will not come on when it's not cold outside, his electrician ***** repeatedly confirmed that this is not true. We have a switch in our basement (that his roofers were given access to) that turns the heating cables on and off. They will turn on immediately, regardless of the temperature. They turned on at 40 degrees earlier this week. It does not have to be under a certain temperature. The heating cables that they installed on our roof turned the power in our entire basement off. Had they just flipped the switch one time, they'd have figured this out. Their workers were here from Sept. ***** and then Sept. 22. Although I repeatedly told them that I would unlock our basement door so they could test the switch, and they agreed, they left and claimed it worked. On New Year's Day 2022 when we tried to turn the heating cables on (after finally getting snow and ice), none of the heating cables work.

We apologize and we understand that this situation was very difficult for everyone, but we did resolve the issue, and worked hard to find what was causing all the outages. There are some situations we cannot predict, and although a situation such as this did arise and we again apologize for any inconveniences, we always stand behind our work. Tell us why here...

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory. After multiple visits and troubleshooting with the electrician and roof repair employees, I believe that the heating cables power outages are resolved. Also, thank you for replacing the damaged downspout. I, personally, would recommend them to other companies AFTER working with Radek to resolve this issue. I think Radek tried his best to resolve these issues, but I'm fully aware that some jobs just aren't perfect when you start and finish, and bumps come along the way. I just wanted this to be resolved after spending $26.5K from our condo board. While I would've preferred it be done in September 2021, at least it's finally resolved. Again, thank you to Radek and ***** (especially), along with the rest of the team.

      Sincerely,
