On Dec 4, 2021, I went to Goldstone Jewelry to have 2 latch back earrings changed to post backs, and have a pin repaired. The earrings were ********* ******* and part of an earring/bracelet gift set from my husband. The earrings/bracelet were the same color stones. The proprietor of Goldstone Jewelry said she could change the earring backs and told me to return after Dec. 18th. On Dec. 21, 2021, I came to get my jewelry. I was very surprised to see that one pair of earrings were not the same color as the ones I had brought in. I told her this, and she insisted they were the same. I paid $90 cash for the repairs of all 3 pieces (and was not given any receipt). Upon returning home, I compared the earrings to the bracelet and saw the colors clearly did not match at all; the ********* *******s had been changed. My husband called the shop and told the proprietor that I was very upset. She told us to return to the shop immediately and we'd talk about it. We returned to the shop, and I showed her how the bracelet and stones in the earrings did not match; they were obviously not the same color stones. I said I wanted my money back for the repairs and she said she would give it to me, but no money was forthcoming. She kept insisting that the stones were not changed, then she asked where I bought them and to provide a receipt. She said if I could do this, she would pay for another pair of earrings and the repair. The set was a gift from my husband and I do not have the receipt for the original purchase. Needless to say, I was extremely upset and left the shop in tears. I would like the BBB to investigate this shop owner, because my experience shows that she is replacing customers' original jewelry with inferior merchandise. Mine was costume jewelry; I'm thankful it was not anything valuable. I do not believe mine is an isolated incident and that I'm the only customer she had treated so unethically. Please investigate this establishment. Thank you.
