Management could be a lot better at communicating and taking tenants worries seriously.Property: ************** Signing the Lease The broker ( *******) was very nice and took us through the process easily.Space If you get a rear apartment, you get a really nice deck. You can also see part of the ******* skyline. Also, Loved the neighborhood with parks, bars walking distance away. Before Move In The property manager was not helpful. We were asking what the address was to forward our addresses and set up gas and electric. The postal service, gas, and electric company said our unit didnt exist. The property manager was arrogant and unhelpful in this process.Move in Day Property Manager forgot the agreed upon move in date. Luckily, we were still able to move in when we wanted. Issues with Apartment When we moved in, we were told the apartment was ready. However, we did not have hot water, window screens were missing or put in incorrectly, the bathroom mirror was warped, and my roommates room was missing some trim. We emailed all this to management and they sent someone to come look at it and fix them. We got an email after about the mirror. Management took more than a month to get someone out to fix it and kept changing the time because the labors call off on Mondays.Change in Management We sent an email to the property manager about concerns in the building and did not get a response. We finally added ** of property management ********** two weeks later. The ** let us know that the old property manager no longer worked for the company. There was no communication about this to the tenants.Stranger trying to enter my apartment There was someone trying to enter my apartment by messing with the lock (not my roommate). I texted other women I knew in the building and one of them said the same thing happened to them the other night. Luckily they didnt get into my apartment. My roommate and I were frightened. The stranger had to get through another door to get to my door. Therefore, they had to have a key or be let in. The new property manager (*******) was very helpful and nice. ******** though was very rude and pretentious. He said in all his years of experience that someone who was trying to break in would kick down the door rather than try to mess with the lock. He said it was probably a confused guests or ill neighbor. That is not the point. The point is someone tried to get into my apartment, it happened more than once, and now I feel unsafe! The property manager did send an email to the tenants about it and asking the tenants to only open doors for people they know and watch their guests. Moving Out We notified ******* three months early that we were moving out. We CCed ******** on this email. Somewhere between then and 30 days before us moving out, ****************** left the company. Again, this was not communicated. ******* had already been showing the apartment. Just to make sure, we emailed ******** again to confirm we were moving out. We detailed that I was moving out earlier than my roommate. We also asked for move out details that ******* had promised. We were never formally sent anything. Per our lease, we had to asked to set up a final inspection. ******** did not show up due to an emergency but did not communicate this to us. I had to call the office. I got a call back from the office and they said that ******** said to leave the keys in the apartment. The final inspection was required by the lease. I sent him an email to reschedule and got no answer. The lady I spoke to at the office even said that she would tell him to get in touch with us. I finally just took pictures and left the keys in the apartment.
