      When I called to coordiinate our move a month in advance the office was so professinal and helpful, the estimate they gave us was ****** okay not bad,the day of the move they were suppose to be there between 11:30-12, no they showed up 2:15 .When the guy ask again what was going I told him take only the heavy furniture, he said oh its going to be more like a 7 hour job, we were told 3 to 3.5 hours.We said we can take the boxes , no they loaded up the truck with boxes so they had to make two trips. They said well we have to take apart the furniture and put it back together,, I said Dont put it together we can do that,thats extra time. It didnt help that only one of the guys spoke english so if he wasnt around no one understood anything. The office gave us a quate for supplies, tape,wrap etc... of ***** . on the final bill it jumped to ******. It was raining so they brought in 2 other guys and said we werent charged but how on earth did my ***************** from ****** to ******* !!!!!!!!!!When they called to say they were on his way they saiud their taking lunch first,they also took smoking breaks. If their not going to speak english they should at least read english BREAKABLE,GLASS,FRAGILE,,! They did put together a few things even after we told them not to, one which was my daughter bed which was done wrong,because that nite when she was sleeping it fell apart! They didnt have tools to take apart the couch so my brother in law had to run home to get his.One guy fell outside and got hurt so he left.I believe that "WSM" took advantage of us because my husband is disable and couldnt do anything.I will never use them again or tell people to use them.

      Take your business elsewhere. These movers damaged several items of furniture, including an antique family heirloom, that I specially asked be wrapped and handled with care. When I expressed concern about their rough handling and improper packing, my concerns were dismissedand then those exact items arrived broken and chipped. After weeks of being given the runaround, I was offered a meager settlement that wont begin to cover the cost of repair. Separately, one of the movers made inappropriate and unprofessional comments when we were alone in my apartment. I hired Windy City because I wanted to support a local family business, but given the lack of respect for clients and their belongings reflected by this and other reviews here, its clear that youre better off going elsewhere.

      This ridiculous company. I scheduled months in advance for a 9 am start time. They called at 830 saying they would be there by 10. They never arrived. I called the dispatching office and the owner ** multiple times but no answer was given except let me call dispatch and call you back. I never received a call back. Finally by noon (3 hours after scheduled start) I cancelled the move. When confronting the owner ** about this he stated what do you want me to do about it? I was hung up on by the dispatch office. They are extremely unprofessional and respond unprofessionally and defensively on ****** reviews. They are lying, unethical, and s***** movers.

      Our office did call you in the morning to alert you that there was an issue with the truck in the morning.We thought it would be taken care of, and that the crew would be by you around 10 a.m.. Unfortunately, it did take longer to resolve the issue. You were in contact with ** and spoke with him on the phone numerous times. Never did he say "what do you want me to do about it?" We do not operate that way.Finally, ** called to inform you that the truck and crew were on the way. You called back and stated that you were cancelling and that you had another moving company on the way.

      Windy city movers doesn't even deserve 1 star. I scheduled a move 3 months ago, and even got a reminder for my upcoming move the day before I moved in. On the day I was supposed to move, the movers were a no-show. I called the owner, and he said I wasn't on the schedule, but I had 4 emails of proof of confirmation of the move, confirmation of booking, the moving estimate and a reminder of the move the day before. I even forwarded this to the moving company. The owner ** lied to me and was extremely rude and unprofessional. He told me that he would call me back with an update on how to fix all of this but NEVER CALLED ME BACK. I had to scramble last minute to find a new moving company and change all of my elevator reservations. I had a family member even drive to the office and speak with the receptionist and she said I was on the schedule in their system, but they messed up and never wrote me down in their physical book. This whole situation was absolutely ridiculous and no accountability was taken. Please never move with this company. I've been letting everyone I know how terrible they are and to never book a move with them.

      They send me 5 emails confirming my move this morning and then they are trying to tell me I never booked when I have more than enough evidence. I am going to *** this company for breaching their contract with me. DO NOT USE WINDY CITY MOVERS!

      During our move they charged us an extra $150 to move a heavy bookshelf. They broke the bookshelf and refused to cover. It. Told me there was nothing they could do for me.There are a lot of movers in *******. I would suggest you go with someone else.
